Overall, Xenoverse 2 feels more in line with what I wanted the original game to be, with its flexible combat engine, wealth of compelling content and an online component that actually worked properly from day 1. Even with the issues with the frequent crashes and the dumb AI, this is still a wet dream for DBZ fans and comes highly recommended.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is a competent port on the Nintendo Switch. While it has obvious stutter in the online lobby and the framerate doesn't match that of its rivaling consoles, being able to play in handheld mode with little difference in quality is a plus and will help you tackle the game's expansive list of content from anywhere.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 on Nintendo Switch is a very interesting late port and one that is very good but definitely could have been a lot better.

If you love fighting outside of the restrictions of grounded combat, flying through the air at great speeds whilst firing off some great combos feels free and exhilarating, even if it can become repetitive over time.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 had a lot to live up to for fans of the franchise after the success of its predecessor, and while the game may not be for everyone, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 offers yet another satisfying experience for Dragon Ball fans that is not one to be missed.

An excellent port that gets even bigger on Nintendo's hybrid system because of its new controls.

"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is better than its predecessor in every way even if it brings along more of the same problems. Still it stands strong as the best in the series for the gameplay alone. The scenarios you'll find yourself in will be greatly entertaining and the amount of content here will last you for a very long time. Just understand that loading screens may play a small part in that. I can say with confidence if you're a DBZ fan, you should buy this game. Consequently, I'd even recommend it for those who just like action/fighting games in general. Let's just hope the post-launch support breathes additional life into this grand world."

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is yet another exceptional Dragon Ball game. The story, roster, and gameplay are all exemplary, and the new and improved content in the game is absolutely fantastic. Though the game suffers from some pacing and loading issues, with remarkably average music, Xenoverse 2 is still an amazing Dragon Ball game that will make any fan ecstatic.

But mostly, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 looks, sounds and feels like Dragon Ball Z. Voices are spot-on, cinematic are true to the original and the battles are epic. A few characters are way too wordy, but so is the source material, so I'll give it a pass. This is a love letter to Dragon Ball Z, and anyone who ever enjoyed the show will find something fun here. Just make sure to bring some friends.

Having played a whole bunch of Xenoverse, even through the frustrations of its horrible RNG systems, I can safely say that Xenoverse 2 is an improvement on all fronts.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is a potent Genki Dama to the series’ longstanding issues, and a bigger, better game than the original by every stretch of the imagination. A true must-have for any Dragon Ball fan.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse shot for the sun and missed. Its ambition was high and its intentions were good but it simply doesn’t deliver on what should be a fantastic foray into a world a lot of people in my generation grew up with. Unless you’re a huge fan of the series, this is one that can be safely missed.

The sheer amount of content in the game is staggering, adding plenty of replay value. However, the flaws of the game are too apparent to ignore. Overall, it's a fun time for fans of the anime and MMO titles, but it's not a perfect game.

The definition of a bigger and better sequel, Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2 doesn't try to fix what isn't broken, and instead focuses on building upon the foundations of the first game. With a crazy amount of content to blast through, an improved combat system, and new ways to develop and customise your very own Dragon Ball hero, this is very much the definitive XenoVerse experience, and an absolute must for fans of Akira Toriyama's manga and anime epic.

Were Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 a serious fighting game trying to compete with the best the genre had to offer, its imbalances and frustrations would make it hard to recommend.

Dragonball Xenoverse 2 is available on other consoles, and I have played them, but the Switch is the best place for the game to call home. The handheld options take the game to a new level, online battles work just fine with Nintendo Switch Online, and local multiplayer is a blast even with joycons. Dragonball Xenoverse 2 for the Nintendo Switch is easily one of the best Dragonball games ever made, and it surpasses The Legacy of Goku as the best localized Dragonball RPG ever. Although the game has been out for a while now, it’s still going strong. It is a great time to pick it up due to its $40USD price point, and brand-new DLC that adds Broly and Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta are just on the horizon. Simply put, this game is a MUST PLAY for Dragonball fans.
