Sky Force Reloaded Reviews
A great port of an excellent mobile game. It may not have the longevity of classics, but it's a hell of a blast while it lasts.
Sky Force Reloaded is a solid if unremarkable vertical shoot'em up, that capitalizes on the absence of similar titles on both Microsoft and Sony marketplaces. We had fun with it, expecially with a friend locally, but that doesn't mean it is perfect. Still, a reasonable choice for fans of the genre.

I've already sank more hours into Sky Force Reloaded than I care to mention, yet I feel like I've still only just scratched its surface.
The grind is real. The grind is great. Sky Force Reloaded is quite possibly the best arcade shmup money can buy.
It doesn't do anything revolutionary for the genre, playing it safe in all regards. It has a lot of content in an enjoyable package. The loop of short, quick play sessions is addicting, and an experience I did not expect to have as much fun with as I did.
While not terrible, Sky Force Reloaded asks too much of the player with too little to give back. With some reworking to the exorbitant grind, I would maybe recommend this, but there are far better shoot 'em ups on the Switch that deserve your time and attention.
It's a testament to the development team that the game feels fresh and exciting after hours of play, where every subsequent upgrade still feels like a milestone achievement and each victory still feels like a demonstration of skill rather than avatar strength.
Delivers what a sequel should be, with more of... everything... on top of the solid foundations they had with the predecessor. Fans of shoot-em-ups that aren't straight up bullet hell titles should be looking into the Sky Force franchise.
For the price tag attached to it, Sky Force Reloaded is the perfect antidote for Nintendo Switch fans that love this genre. As long as you came here in order to experience a pretty basic, and grind-heavy (but immensely addictive) vertical shoot 'em up, where the only modern thing about it is its graphical update, then you simply cannot go wrong!
Sky Force Reloaded is the FDA generic version of the shoot-em-up. Everything is so plain, and the lack of personality will dissuade all but the most hardcore of shmup fans.
This is a game that doesn't do anything new, but it takes a classic genre and delivers on it so well that it's hard to fault the lack of innovation. If you have even the slightest interest in shoot 'em ups, this is a game you don't want to miss.
Reloaded is a significant step back from last year's Sky Force Anniversary.
Sky Force Reloaded is a vertical scroll shoot'em up that knows how to give such a classic premise a fresh flavor. From here, fifteen levels full of excitement, shooting, tension, different enemies, and bigger bosses await us. Perhaps the ship's progress system requires excessive star farming, and the difficulty lacks a bit of adjustment, but do not be fooled, the virtues continue to make the game a very remarkable experience.

At the end of the day Sky Force Reloaded is a gorgeous and challenging arcade shooter, and is among the most impressive on the Switch. Its looks are top-notch, it offers a significant degree of challenge for shmup fans, and its controls are buttery-smooth. Just be prepared to invest in the game for the long-term if you really want to see all it has to offer, which doesn’t have to be a bad thing. I just feel like the game could and should perhaps ease up the throttle, at least early on, to give people a few unlocks to better see what’s possible earlier on so they don’t necessarily give up before seeing much of what the game has to offer.
With Sky Force Reloaded, despite not necessarily bringing anything revolutionary to the traditional arcade shooter, the many collectable systems in place somewhat reflect the special hook that made this genre so addictively popular in the first place. It all feels very well put together and equally hard to put down, even though the thought of the grind did initially put me off. Some may still feel that the progression system in place can be on the slow side, especially for those that just want to trail through it as quickly as possible. As for myself, collecting every medal, and aiming to snatch all four objectives in a single run keeps me on the constant return for more.
Sky Force Reloaded is everything Sky Force Anniversary was, but bigger and better in every conceivable way. Infinite Dreams has re-imagined the scrolling shooter in inventive and exciting ways. Sky Force Reloaded is the best the series has looked, played, and felt yet. I wish Infinite Dreams would make something in the vein of their mobile series, but only for modern consoles and PCs to give it more depth rather than grind. Now, the grind is manageable, but something that not everyone will enjoy. That said, Sky Force Reloaded is still a lot of fun no matter how little or much you put into it.
Sky Force Reloaded is a reimagining of cell phone game brought to consoles and PC. It's a 19XX and Raiden style game, but looking good. It's challenging and will require a lot of hours played to complete. Also available for free on mobile.
