The fighting is a lot of fun if you can deal with the rest of the game.

OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes is a game mostly meant for fans, but those who have never heard of the series can also get a kick out of it. The more relaxed method of storytelling works well to get newcomers interested in the cartoon series, and there's enough here to get them up to speed on each character's personalities. The fighting isn't deep, but it's still enjoyable if you don't mind that the battles against even low-level enemies can be quite lengthy. The same can be said for the adventure portion, which can be pretty shallow but still fun. This may not be a must-have title, but it's still worth checking out as an example of a fairly decent licensed title.

While unfortunately bogged down by frequent padding and repetition, Let's Play Heroes does enough right to still be fun and feel genuine.

OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes is a title that is full of tiresome fetch quests and padding. Yet, this game shines when combat, or the talented cast of voice actors are put center stage, which isn't often enough to save it from the repetitive qualities you are forced to handle.

OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes has all of the makings of an astounding beat-'em up thanks to its fun and action-packed combat, as well as a style and flavor in all areas that perfectly matches the show and is guaranteed to please fans. Sadly, it does not have the makings of an astounding RPG, though, and the bare-bones quests and overall story that goes on for too long renders the whole deal overly repetitive.

OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes sounds and looks good, but dull repetitive combat and a story that doesn't go anywhere. But if you're already a fan of the show, you'll probably be okay with its shortcomings, newcomers need not apply.

OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes won't end up on many year-end lists, but it should go down as an important title. It's one that shows that licensed kids cartoon adaptations  don't have to be mediocre, and that they can be filled with the same charm as the television shows that made them beloved in the first place. Let's Play Heroes is a success because of how respectful it is towards its source material, and is one of the few licensed games that feel like a true extension of its world rather than a hollow recreation.

Fighting can be incredibly fluid and fun, but it's like Capybara took an idea they had for a side-scrolling beat-'em-up and stretched it beyond its limits into an ill-fitted action RPG. In that same breath, you'll be hard pressed to find a game more faithful to its source material.

OK K.O. Let's Play Heroes perfectly captures the tone of the show, but the shallow mechanics prove to be its kryptonite.
