FIFA 19 is really solid overall with what feels like more changes than we've seen in the last few years combined. Ultimately, when you're making this many fundamental changes to a soccer game, you're going to have certain aspects that lack a little bit of polish, but it'll be interesting to see how EA continues to balance and improve the game over time. I also wonder at this point whether the next few years will be spent polishing this fresh feeling experience or if EA will continue to mix up the tested formula.

FIFA 19 makes some welcome tweaks and revels in its Champions League license, leading to a fantastic sports sim sadly held back by microtransactions.

FIFA 19 is one of the most satisfying games in the series yet. The addition of the UEFA Champions League adds some excitement to everything, even if it artificially bloats the overly long final chapter in The Journey. Subtle but meaningful tweaks to the gameplay make it both flashier and more physical than last year's edition while still retaining that good ol' fashioned FIFA feel, and the new modes and stat-tracking tools added to Kick Off are great, even if they're relegated to local play.

Truly egregious commentary aside, FIFA 19 is another winner for EA Sports. The improvements over last year's entry are subtle but many, resulting in a footie sim that feels incredibly refined. Better balance across the pitch opens options for more tactical play, and there's more nuance to explore than ever before. More casual FIFA players may not see the difference immediately, but there's a deliberate intricacy to FIFA 19, and it's enough to keep the series in top form.

Despite the lack of career mode improvements, FIFA 19 is a faithful representation of the sport we know and love, complete with unparalleled bells and whistles. But it falls a bit short of the mark of being the definitive experience we had hoped for this year.

FIFA 19 is the finest playing game in the series. The Journey may be after running its course, but the fluid representation of football, the added element of Dynamic Tactics, and the madness of the updated Kick Off mode are all wonderful.

FIFA 19 feels like the culmination of the last few years of FIFA games, and not just from the conclusion of The Journey's interwoven story. The Champions League gives EA the opportunity to show their presentation skills and bed in a new commentary partnership, a shakeup for the main online set up of Ultimate Team, and the surprisingly fun new Kick Off mode. Some new ideas don't quite come together, but there's a reason why FIFA is the biggest game in town.

The highs and lows of football are all here, and EA has pulled out (most of) the stops to provide a unique, utterly gleeful soccer game that leaves room for improvement but also serves as a new career best for the FIFA series.

FIFA 19's headline new feature, the Champions League, adds to an already slick and fine tuned package, but it's the subtle gameplay tweaks that have made EA's latest such a big success. On the pitch FIFA offers more control than ever before, finally making for a game that isn't just about showing off to mates.

FIFA 19 is more exciting on the pitch than off due to the small additions made to the former and the lack of progress for the latter.

FIFA 19 is a title that in general, net of some imperfections, really gives us great moments and excellent game actions. The fidelity with which the best known players are played is truly remarkable, and the care of animations is also good and improved. Excellent behavior of the players in relation to their physical characteristics that guarantee a game much closer to reality, albeit always arcade. Pecca instead the physics of the ball that is once again treated with a lot of lightness. Often in fact the ball follows trajectories quite unrealistic and not very credible parables, in addition to the fact that, players like Cristiano Ronaldo, sometimes manage to score from positions not really appropriate to that type of actions. For the rest, however, FIFA remains a fun and enjoyable game, which improves on the gameplay, in actions such as control of the ball and contrasts, as well as in shooting actions. In short, a football perhaps more spectacular than realistic but like and satisfies!

Maintaining an almost impossible level of polish across its many modes, FIFA 19 might not eclipse PES 19 on the pitch, but it demonstrates its worth via The Journey.

Whilst FIFA 19 hasn’t re-invented the wheel with FIFA 19 it has done enough to improve what it already a stellar Football experience. Career and Pro modes may not have received an overhaul but where it counts, FIFA 19 nails it. It may feel like iterative changes have been made but they are quite bold for the franchise and FIFA 19 is all the better for it. There can be no argument, FIFA remains firmly atop the Football genre.

FIFA 19 takes the throne this year with ease thanks to a bad performance from PES but still manages to tweak the gameplay and graphics of the game to just the right level. Also the new house rules, the journey champions and champions league are enough reasons to love the offline parts of this years FIFA.
