Hitman 2 is a solid follow up to the 2016 reboot, but there wasn't much that stood out from its predecessor. If more Hitman is what you want, that is exactly what you'll get. There are some slight improvements, but anyone looking for new and drastic changes will not find them here.

When it all boils down to it, Hitman 2 is pretty much just finding new ways to kill the same targets. With only six maps, you’ll often be facing the same targets again and again. Most maps have more than just one target, but I do wish there were a little bit more variety. I still think it’s a great game. With the elusive targets coming up (I’m coming for you Sean Bean) as well as DLCs, there’s a lot to this game to look forward to.

Hitman 2 is an excellent murder simulator that lets players run wild with creativity. The only restrictions to how you take out your targets are how clever you are.

Hitman 2 isn't a revolution, it's a refinement of what worked and an irresistible package of worthwhile and replayable content. Creativity and audacious planning is rewarded and options are given for any potential playstyle from the casual murderer to the gilded assassin. With even more content planned for the future and the plethora of challenges and modes to take part in, this is one game that satisfies all your assassination needs and more. Some slight performance problems and a throwaway story does hobble it a bit, but make no mistake, this is the definitive Hitman experience in one convenient and polished package.

Hitman 2 brings in more of what I loved about the first game and then some. The tight gameplay, the serious but comical undertone, and the plethora of challenging bits to accomplish make Hitman 2 an amazing package. It’s unfortunate that IO forces you to connect to a server to actually access the challenge information, let alone be able to save your progression of them. It leaves a nasty stain on such a pristine, near perfect white suit.

HITMAN 2 is more of the same, with an emphasis on more and same. The gameplay is damn near unchanged, but it’s still satisfying to line up the hit and carry it out. The more massive levels and challenges lend themselves to more replayability, and even if the AI is one acid tab away from brain-death, it’s fun to see what you can pull off. Those hankering for a better-told story than the last game will be left wanting, but it’s a small price to pay for such elaborate and dense levels. If you liked the first game, you’ll like this one, because it’s practically the same but bigger.

Hitman 2 is my favorite $60 title of 2018. I had an absolutely fantastic time and will certainly dip back in every time there’s a new elusive target available. If you haven’t already played Hitman then I highly encourage you to pick up the two-game package because the two combined are easily worth five stars.

Hitman 2 is the perfect sequel, refining its flaws and improving the formula in practically all its dimensions. We are facing a great title that will give us hours and hours of fun planning and executing a thousand and one plans to find the perfect murder.

HITMAN 2 tends more to the safe side and relies on the framework of its predecessor to provide more of its signature brand of assassination. The most notable change is the incredible size of the locations as well as spending that extra time to make sure each area has a purpose and feels satisfying to explore. The disguise mechanics leave a bit to be desired, but there is still the capability to take on challenge runs through the Contracts system that enact various restrictions. Plenty of reasons exist to keep going back into the locales, increasing replayability significantly and help keep the limited number of regions from getting too stale as Agent 47 continues his worldwide tour.

Overall, Hitman 2 is an incredible game marred by the inclusion of a confusing and hollow story. However, the story is definitely not necessary to get enjoyment out of this title. The way the game is built allows practically anyone to have a great time executing stages and targets in their own way.

Hitman 2 is the best stealth-based action game I’ve played this entire generation. The game is extremely generous with the amount of content you get, especially if you can get hold of season one and unlock all of the extra content both for free play and the entire first game’s story arc. As someone who’s not a fan of stealth games, the fact I couldn’t put it down just shows how brilliant the game design is and how addictive the developers have created it to be. Completing the challenges isn’t a chore, it’s exciting, entertaining, and above all, extremely addictive. Before long you’ll be replaying the same mission over and over just because…

HITMAN 2 features big, open-ended levels that offer players a ton of freedom to choose how to eliminate unsuspecting victims. It manages to keep much of the soul of the series while updating the gameplay and offering a very polished experience.

In a world where stealth games are few and far between, Hitman 2 is the closest we’re going to get to sneaking around and taking out a target. While hiding in plain sight is different to sneaking around in a box or in permanent night-vision, Agent 47 has a prominent place again in video games.

While we have a weak storyline the overall package is a great collection of sandbox missions with a huge amount of repeatable play sessions that you can keep approaching in different ways, the game looks great and plays just as well as you want from a Hitman game, throw in the extra game modes and all of the additional content that IO keep adding to game and this is great value, just don’t let the weak story put you off.

Hitman 2 is a worthy successor to the first reboot. While it could’ve been a meaty expansion, given the focus on refining mechanics rather than introducing new ones, it's a perfect sequel to a near-perfect game, and why would you mess with perfection?

Hitman 2 is an appealing game and loyal to Hitman series roots. there are problems with story and AI but they won't stop you from enjoying the game, and open-world design of each level has made it more entertaining than before.

By granting unshackled freedom to experiment and get creative, Hitman 2 respects its players. With goofy dialogue and murder galore, it doesn't take itself too seriously, frequently eliciting hearty laughter through its violent absurdity and silly characters. An aura of dark comedy envelopes Hitman 2's death laden tone, and it's bloody good fun.
