Overcooked 2 takes the strong foundation of the original game and improves in the right areas. It's still fun, chaotic, and a blast to play with friends. The gameplay mechanics are simple and smooth. There are plenty of recipes, chefs, and kitchens in Overcooked 2 to keep you entertained for months on end. I would definitely recommend playing with friends. This is one game you do not want to send back to the kitchen.

When I first saw Overcooked 2, I knew there was something special about the game. The fact that Nintendo chose what was a little-known, independently developed game to showcase at E3 this year alongside flagship franchises such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate demonstrated their faith in the game. And that faith was not misplaced. New features such as the throwing mechanic, online multiplayer and improved production values sweeten what is already one of the best multiplayer experiences on the console. And although there are some negative points (such as the lack of native voice chat during online play), these are minor gripes when compared to the mayhem and pure, unadulterated fun that local multiplayer sessions offer. If you have three friends and are looking for some of the most fun on the Nintendo Switch, you’d be hard pressed to pass on Overcooked 2.

With viable options to play alone, with friends locally, or with people online this version of Overcooked is ripe with opportunities for fun. Better yet, the feeling of the experience and the challenge in each case tends to be wildly different, even when replaying the same levels. While the result may still be a bit too overwhelming for people looking to games more to de-stress rather than inspire even more, it can be a ton of chaotic fun if you’re willing to embrace the challenge.

'Overcooked 2' is still the fun, chaotic multiplayer cooking experience. For those returning to the game, it may feel more like an expansion upon the first, but new players are welcomed and can find the game easily adaptable.

As fun as the original, Overcooked 2 is a better version thanks to subtle changes in gameplay but mainly the addition of online multiplayer. A must-have for friends!

Overcooked 2 vs Overcooked is like comparing an executive chef to their sous chef – they are both amazing at what they do but the executive is clearly more advanced and built on experience. As such, Overcooked 2 has taken on board all of the feedback from the original game and improved on every aspect to the point where going back to the amazing Overcooked feels like a downgrade! There are tonnes of fun and frustration to be had in solo-play, couch co-op, and even online multiplayer modes – although it’s a much better experience to play with friends or people you know the majority of the time.

Words can't do the frantic nature of Overcooked 2 justice, and that's the beauty of it. There's never been a session where we haven't had a blast playing, even when we're butting heads against tough levels that we fail several times in a row; there's not many games we can say that about. With the option of both local and online co-op, Overcooked 2 becomes one of the the best party games available.

Though fairly safe in many respects, the inclusion of one simple mechanic has completely reinvented the way that you play Overcooked. A single stroke of genius, coupled with improved level design and the always endearing audio/visual style guarantees that Overcooked 2 will be in high circulation through any social events to come.

Overcooked 2 brings to the table new recipes and fresh new kitchen’s to test you and your group’s mettle. Overcooked 2’s big draw is in it’s multiplayer so buyer beware if you’re planning to play alone. As I said in my review of the first game, “…be aware that you won’t find nearly as much fun to be had unless you bring together a group who will play in your living room; or kitchen; I’m not one to judge.” This time around though, you can hop into other people’s living rooms through the wonders of the internet. And yes, I’m still not one to judge where you play. But hey, the couch is more comfortable than a kitchen counter, just sayin’.

Overcooked 2 is just about the perfect couch co-op game. Have a partner or even a few friends to play with and you'll find relationships destroyed or strengthened in a matter of minutes. Play the game on your own, however, and the multi-tasking, meal-making coordination required for later levels can start to make it feel like a bit of a slog. So do yourself a favour and ensure you have a partner when playing Overcooked! 2 and you'll soon be having the time of your life, Gordon Ramsay-ing it up in no time.

Overcooked 2 builds greatly upon the original with more ways to play and excellent cooperative or competitive options for up to four players.

Overcooked 2 is a very enjoyable and crazy game to cook with your friends or play online, but if you are a lonely chef, maybe you prefer to look for another kind of game.

There aren’t many great couch co-op games but Overcooked 2 is certainly one of them. Sure it may cause a few arguments and have you tearing your hair out at your fellow chef’s incompetence, but you’ll have so much fun playing this game you’ll never want to leave the kitchen. Buy it now, or forever regret it.

A game that will have you swearing at your grandma, and threatening violence upon your closest friends after half an hour, Overcooked 2 is one of the best party games that you can get your hands on, and it's easily the most fun I've had with a multiplayer game in years. The single player can sometimes get a bit overwhelming (please don't play this if you have anxiety!) but with 4 people playing side by side or, for the first time, over the internet, it's an excellent title that will have you in stitches of laughter while cursing your head off. A worthy purchase, even if you've played the original to death.

Overcooked 2 is just everything you loved about the original game but so much more, better presented, and even more entertaining. This sensational little game can now be played with anyone at anytime anywhere in the world and that’s just the most wonderful thing. Whichever format you play it on, Overcooked 2 is an essential ingredient in your online gaming diet.

Overcooked 2 doesn’t reinvent itself but the new additions are welcomed and definitely enhance a game that already had a good recipe. I’m glad that they didn’t mess with this and have kept this familiar feel. Overcooked 2 allows you to continue with all the fun from the first game with some great new levels.

While Overcooked 2 does not have many core upgrades from the original title released back in 2016, the overall feel of the title is much tighter right now, control and game progression wise. If you’re looking to get into the game with a brand new set of friends for each session, go for the more forgiving story mode as opposed to arcade mode. Overcooked 2 should be the go-to party title for any Switch owner in their library.

The sequel to one of the Xbox's best ever co-operative games is bigger and better in almost every way. I can't recommend that you play solo, but, with the addition of online multiplayer, why would you?

Overcooked 2 takes everything the first game did right and expands on it. You get bigger and crazier kitchens, more cooks, better controls, and more multiplayer options. This one’s best played with friends locally so you can hoot and holler at each other while trying to crank out as many pancakes as possible.
