Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate it's the game Switch deserves, but not the one it needs right now. A good porting, with good mechanics but poor graphics performances.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is simply one of the best entries the series has to offer.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is one of the best entries in the series and well worth playing for fans. Players new to Monster Hunter might find it difficult to get along with at first, but stick with it and you'll find an engrossing, valuable hunting experience.

Monster Hunter arrives on Nintendo Switch with an installment practically unsurpassed. Perhaps we miss more changes or a more remarkable graphic face washing, but it's undeniable that hunting, in the old fashioned way, is better than ever.

In a way it feels like a send off, of the old Monster Hunter before we get a true version built for the Switch - from the ground up.

A pretty good version of a great 3DS game. Monster Hunter to take with you anywhere you want.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is pretty much just an enhanced version of the 3DS game. Veteran hunters will find new challenges, which include new options, with newcomers having plenty to learn. Sure, the enhanced visuals and additional content is nice, but it isn't that much of an enhancement. Finally, for those who're expecting another Monster Hunter World, it's much closer to the traditional feel, making it less accessible, with harder monsters to overcome.

Veterans may jump at the chance to lap this up all over again, but new players hot off the back of World may struggle to find their feet.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate has a big scope and is the best Monster Hunter of the ancient era.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is not for newcomers, but provides plenty of great action for series veterans.

If you want to get into MHGU then you'll need some external help, but the addition of this title on Switch makes it perfect to take on the go. It complements the preparation and hunt loop upon which the game relies, with minimal performance hitches or issues.

Monster Hunter: Generations Ultimate has some of the best kineticism and game feel of any game you can play on handheld consoles right now. Its graduation from 3DS to Switch is nothing short of mind-blowing.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate truly is the ultimate Monster Hunter package. It's missing the quality of life improvements, openness, and spectacular visuals found in Monster Hunter World, but what it's not lacking is content and varied gameplay which can be seen as the best in the series. This action-rpg is no hack & slash. It's depth is engaging. Over 14 weapon types means 14 distinct fighting styles. Tons to craft, collect and sights to see. The 93 bosses are unique in both design and their patterns which provides a fresh experience every time you meet a new one. The game is fine solo, but if you grab a few buddies and get to work, it's one of the best times. Just stay away from fighting on the edges of areas. Happy Hunting!

Still one of the best entries in the series, but the comparisons to Monster Hunter: World are not kind – especially as this is essentially just a 3DS port.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the dangerous world of hunting with a mountains of content and the ability to play not only at home but also on the road. If you've already finished with Monster Hunter World and want more, then Generations Ultimate will be a great purchase.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate pushes you to be better. As a newcomer, I've learned so much in such a short period of time that the recommended breaks between sessions became mandatory to retain all the new information. The staggering amount of content included is worth the price of admission alone. And yeah, combat can feel janky at times, and there aren't many visual enhancements from the 3DS version, but there's a distinct charm and life to Generations that still shines through, compelling even the least competitive of gamers to strive for greatness.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is not so easy to pick for new players, but extremely rewarding once you get into it. Technically speaking, its style feels too old for the new generation console: the Nintendo side of the Capcom saga needs, more than ever, a new, fresh beginning.

All in all, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate brings some neat new features and monsters to the table, but at the same time it doesn't do anything to truly alter the way you experience the Monster Hunter Franchise.
