Blood Waves is the kind of trash that reflects badly on all indies. The developer has taken an established, popular genre, copied the basic elements of it wholesale, but done so in such an incompetent and soulless manner that it's hard to see the game as anything but pure cynicism.

Blood Waves feels like a pale imitation of Resident Evil's Mercenaries mode. Though the traps players can set add some variety, the lack of character and polish in this title is blatantly apparent.

I personally found Blood Waves very repetitive, and frankly not much fun. The game needed variation in terms of its level design, and the game mechanics to be more fluent for it to work. The zombies Rag like doll movements and looks were disappointing. Blood Waves could have been so much more, had it got the basics right with the addition of leaderboards and option for another player to fight the good fight with. However, I must say I thought the upgrades and weapon additions were excellent and executed nicely throughout.

You’ll start out in a circular room that’s lacking in detail or cover, where a steady flow of zombies will be thrown at you coming from different directions...

Blood Waves is an arena-based zombie survival game that fails to hit the mark. With poor controls, lacklustre mechanics, and dated graphics, it will disappoint you. I can't recommend it as there are many better games in this genre.

MEDIOCRE - Blood Waves might satisfy some zombie aficionados, but most gamers have seen and played better games in this genre. The lack of polish, tedious grinding, and high difficulty make this game an easy one to pass up. For the $10 price it’s not horrible, but with so many other great games near the same price point, it’s hard to recommend this one.

Personally, I would strongly advise everyone against picking up Blood Waves, even if it’s featured within a sale. The game is not worth time and money you will put into it. If the game was updated with more locations, better combat, less-spongy enemies, a decent soundtrack, more original and define enemies and protagonists, and maybe allow for fantastical weaponry and abilities – then it MAY be worth trying out and re-visiting. However, until that happens, I don't see myself returning to the game any time soon.

Blood Waves would have been an adequate mode tacked onto another full game, a tiny side dish to a main meal elsewhere that could kill 2 hours. Unfortunately, as a standalone experience, it’s lacking in depth, excitement and personality. The trap building, the most interesting aspect of the game, is not enough to make this anything more than an also-ran in a genre that’s seen genuine quality over the years.

Blood Waves is a very basic game that brings a single core concept, it gets boring quickly though.

Blood Waves is a game that I think has been kept very basic from the start. It doesn’t look good.

Blood Waves is a simple game that throws you into a circular arena and makes you fight against increasingly numerous and difficult zombies. It rips off Lara Croft character and this is the best thing it does.
