Team Sonic Racing Reviews
The first question I always ask myself when testing various Sonic Racing titles is, why does the world's fastest hedgehog have to master various race tracks with a race car? Unfortunately, this question is not answered until the end of the game. Nevertheless, Team Sonic Racing remains an average fun racer where there is potential for more. The fact that you can help your comrades and thereby get bonuses yourself is very well done. Unfortunately some AI friends are so badly programmed that you lose because of them and the frustration level rises. My highlight in the game were the different modes. It's fun not always having to drive a Grand Prix. The various challenges are well chosen and demanding. Unfortunately the Nintendo Switch version has such immense frame rate drops and lags in the online mode that you should consider buying the game on Nintendo's handheld. Team Sonic Racing is fun, but is definitely no competition for Mario Kart!

Team Sonic Racing won’t stand out as a masterclass entry in the genre but it’s a solid game that many Sonic fans and racing nuts will likely enjoy.
Having this title on the go is much more appealing, and would definitely get more of a kick out of playing this game on a lunch break, or even trips on transport. As a fan of the kart racing genre, I totally love what they have done with this title, and am now excited to see the prospects of what’s to come in the future for the Sonic Racing series.
In the end, Team Sonic Racing is a standard racing game with good features. If you're a fan of Sonic, don't miss out on it, but if you want to go for the style of the game, don't miss out on a CTR remake or even if you have a switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a great option.

Team Sonic Racing is the next installment in the beloved Sonic Racing series. With Crush 40 back on board, customization and more, Team Sonic Racing is a fantastic pickup for racing fans.
However, there’s still the issues with matchmaking, and compared to the more polished kart racers on the system you’re better off picking one of those, and you’re especially better off picking this up on any system but Switch due to the framerate downgrade if you’re still interested in these fun moments. Team Sonic Racing is decent as a handheld game and a fun racer in general, but this port could have been so much better.
Kart racers are tricky games to get right. Dwarfed by the mammoth success of Mario Kart and the recent release of Crash Team Racing, Team Sonic Racing is a surprisingly solid but ultimately forgettable addition to the genre. Taking the best elements from both of the aforementioned games, this Sega racer makes the most of its high-speed courses but is held back by some repetitive gameplay and a lack of variety with its tracks.
Unfortunately, despite all it has going for it, Team Sonic Racing doesn't achieve its full potential. The track selection is far and away inferior to previous offerings. There are some standouts, but it feels like for each great track, there are two half-baked ones filled with recycled ideas that go on for far too long.
Team Sonic Racing loses some of the things that made previous Sonic Racing titles great, but it adds in co-op gameplay mechanics that really push players to work together to cross the finish line. It’s a great addition to the kart racing genre, and it’s totally fun with friends.
Team Sonic Racing is a decent mascot racer, that chose to focus too much on the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. The game sorely lacks in variety and can lose its charm once you try to dig more than skin deep. Sonic fans are sure to get a kick out of SEGA’s latest racer, but may feel there is a lot to be desired.
It might not push or break any barrier but Team Racing Sonic is still an overall fun and enjoyable kart racing game. Definitely recommended for any fans of Sonic the Hedgehog.
Team Sonic Racing delivers on its promise and that is pure fun. Being also a nice surprise that everyone who is into the racing genre should take a look.

Team Sonic Racing combines the best elements of arcade and fast-paced competitive style racing as you face-off with friends in intense multiplayer racing. Race together and work together as a team by sharing power-ups and speed boosts. Take control of your racing style – Choose from 3 distinct character types and unlock game-changing vehicle customisation options to suit your racing style. Gear Up, Speed Up – Team Racing at Sonic Speed!
Those expecting a deep single-player experience to match previous Sonic racers won't get much to enjoy unless you have friends or family to join you in on the fun. Get a group of players to join you offline or online and you'll have a blast. It's made for a group of players, not for those who don't like sharing.
The team-based system might take away from the skill required to master the game but the overall experience is enjoyable. For me, however, it is my least favourite out of the three released.
Team Sonic Racing is a game full of potential but played it too safe and didn’t go full throttle to reach the desired finish line it set out to at first. The game still has a chance of improvement either via updates or through DLC but as for now, it feels like it’s on the low end of a fast track with bumps on the side.
Team Sonic Racing is good, but it's a step down from Sumo Digital's previous kart racers.
Team Sonic Racing is an entertaining arcade racing game. It is an above-average racing title that you will enjoy especially with friends. We can definitely recommend this one, but for longer gaming sessions, maybe look somewhere else.

On the whole, I definitely had a lot of fun with Team Sonic Racing. Graphically and sound technically I was really convinced. Unfortunately, as a switch player, I had to lose a bit during the performance. Team Sonic Racing is a solid, arcadic funracer and, despite some criticism, cuts a good figure. The adventure mode, which unfortunately didn't go down so well with me, doesn't offer a profound story, but crisp challenges and some variety. But Sega: The technology and the concept are great, but please take the "Sega All-Stars" on board again next time. Finally, I can only warmly recommend PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC gamers - even switch owners can access it courageously, but Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still the undisputed front-runner here.

Team Sonic Racing is one of the best kart racers you can get, outside of the obvious Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It’s a brilliant entry in the genre, and a fantastic effort from Sumo Digital. While the exclusion of classic SEGA characters outside of the Sonic franchise is a bit of a let-down, this is the best Sonic racer money can buy.
