Whispers Of A Machine Reviews
True to its name, Whispers of a Machine does exactly that: it whispers. Rather than "shouting," with flashy audio-visuals, cool action, and in-your-face storytelling, it uses the humble, grey-haired Adventure Game Studio, to offer something that's far more subtle in its approach. Clifftop Games creation is a simple, yet stunningly well-written, immersive, and all around fun point-and-click adventure game, with a gripping sci-fi plot, and an unwavering focus in its flawless, detective-style gameplay loop. Currently just a hidden gem, this must-have needs you, fellow adventure fan, to spread the word…
Whispers Of A Machine is a solid Point & Click adventure underpinned with some intriguing choice mechanics, boasting a solid, if not revelatory plot. Worth seeking out.
Whispers of a Machine is an approachable point and click adventure. The story is pretty interesting and the main character, as well as few side characters, are well-crafted too. It falls shy of the best examples of the genre, but Whispers of a Machine isn't far off the mark from being considered great.
It’s short, sweet, and although there is the promise for more, is ultimately rewarding.
The biggest reason I personally love Whispers is because of its themes. Not only does the game shock players fairly quickly, it then drops a proverbial bomb on them. Players are exposed to themes of creation, technology, religion, terrorism, and relationships. And the way all of these topics are woven into the story is actually quite brilliant. In fact, it is done well enough that I was horrified at the very idea of this game becoming a reality in the future.
With a promising premise and great voice acting, Whispers of a Machine starts out on the right foot but is brought down by poor puzzle design and shallow writing.
Whispers of a Machine tells a fascinating post-cyberpunk story, where the destiny of the world is decided in the streets of a tiny suburban town. The writing is brilliant, as tense as only a good thriller can be, while the investigation is always stimulating, supported by good gameplay ideas and clever puzzles.

Whispers of a Machine is a smart point-and-click that elevates its spotty lore with a great script and an excellent, if underused, augmentation system.
Whispers of a Machine is successful in telling an engaging story and adding some interesting new elements to an old point and click gameplay. Nevertheless, several issues like unfair puzzles, confusing moments, and lack of an eye-catching design ruin part of our experience.

Whispers of a Machine is a puzzling enigma, a fascinating story, and a bit of an ugly beast, but well worth your time.
Whispers of a Machine is aimed mostly at adventure game veterans. It has some minor flaws, but all things considered, it's a well done game with a pleasant art style, thoughtfully designed world and some interesting gameplay features.

Whispers of a Machine is a point & click that does not change the genre, but it brings a little more with its system of choices influencing the character of Vera, and the Azur that adapts according to them. Even if the proposed survey remains classic, the mysteries that compose it are complex enough to solicit your brain. If you are a fan of science fiction and this kind of game, it would be a shame to miss the investigation that offers this adventure.
Clifftop Games' Whispers of a Machine is a capable, clever, and ambitious adventure game, but still feels like a niche experience lacking wide appeal.
A very strong point-and-click mystery title that excels in every area, and where each element subtly complements the short but bittersweet narrative.
Whispers of a Machine is like a good episode of your favorite police procedural: familiar and fun, no more and no less.
This is a good adventure game! It’s actually an incredibly clever adventure game doing lots of very subtle smart things! It has its issues, but don’t we all.
Whispers of a Machine is an original graphic adventure in which the decision making and the variety of dialogues allow a quite wide range of replayability. Although the story hooks and catches, it does not know how to lead to a correct outcome and ends up leaving us a little cold. The cast of voices is very striking and with correct intonations. A game to keep in mind even though it could have been better.

Overall Whispers of a Machine is a fun well thought out point and click adventure game. This genre isn't for everyone, but for those who like it, then this is a definite buy.
While it won’t take you more than a few hours and falters a little with its supporting cast, the unusual approach to puzzle-solving in Whispers of a Machine ensure there’s enough replay value to make a return worthwhile.
