Critic Reviews for Sniper Elite V2 Remastered
There are still problems with artificial intelligence and level design, but despite its age this is still one of the best sniper games around.
7 years after its original release, Sniper Elite V2 feels outdated, even with new graphics and extra levels. Nevertheless we still like the steallth elements, the realistic setting and the killcam.

Sniper Elite V2 Remastered isn't a terrible game, but it feels outdated and completely outclassed in 2019. While its x-ray exterminations are still appealing, it's just about the only factor making up this package that could turn one's head in today's world. Simply put, there are just so many better experiences you could have through the scope of a sniper rifle, including those sequels that make up the very franchise in question.
All of this makes it hard to argue that anyone new to the series should try V2 Remastered. It offers too many 2012 issues in a prettier 2019 package. However, if you're already a fan, these poorly aged issues are more forgiving, making Sniper Elite V2 Remastered worth aiming for.
For series veterans, there's not a huge improvement over the original, but if you like snazzier graphics this may well give you a reason to give SE V2 another blast, if only to tide you over for the many months until Sniper Elite 5 is released.
Even if Sniper Elite V2 Remastered shows the signs of age, it's still an enjoyable sniping game. There are some problems (AI is far from being perfect), but fans of stealth/sniping games should give it a look.

Sniper Elite V2 Remastered is a solid remaster that allows you to experience the campaign, DLC levels, and visceral, satisfying shooting the game is known for again in 2019. Some aspects of the game have not seen much of an upgrade if any upgrade at all, with the game's AI and the audio system showing its age. Despite that, the game is an enjoyable way to hop back into Rebellion's classic franchise.
Sniper Elite V2 Remastered adds some prettier textures and lighting, but fails to make this poorly-designed, frustrating game worth another look.
