Pathologic 2 Reviews
Pathologic 2 presents a weird, engaging, and wholly unique world to uncover and explore, but makes the act of playing it a clunky and laborious chore.
Pathologic 2 is the ultimate acquired taste - unforgiving, byzantine, and eye-opening.
Thanks to its extraordinary aesthetic choices and his infinite variety of roleplaying approaches, combined with the depth and exquisite wickedness of survival mechanics, Pathologic 2 is confirmed as an original, atypical, dreamlike, violent and masochistic experience.

The game is exhausting, it's difficult to be in it for a long time. But because of the deep atmosphere, vivid characters and mysterious plot, it clings and doesn't let go until the very end. The experience is uniquely interesting, but requires additional polishing.

Pathologic 2 is a narrative triumph, but atrocious combat gets in the way.
Strange and depressive fight against a devastating plague is not sattisfaction for everyone.

I can’t say I’ve ever played something quite like Pathologic 2. The systems are intricate, the choices have serious consequences and the story is perhaps the most mind-boggling I’ve ever experienced in a video game. At times, it’s too much, the unforgiving learning curve and hard to follow story making it wildly inaccessible. However, if you are patient and stick with it, Pathologic 2 opens up into a completely unique, surreal and harrowing experience that I can assure you won’t have played anywhere else.
A very difficult game that can be frustrating at times, but ultimitely does keep you entertained. Worth adjusting the difficulty to make it more playable.
Just stay alive!
Pathologic 2 deconstructs the player/game dichotomy even as it celebrates how affecting that relationship can be. It is rich and dense and uncompromising. That it exists at all is an anomaly, but one I can only hope doesn’t stay that way.
Pathologic 2 is a remake of a survival horror game from 2005. It streamlines the plot and makes everything look prettier. You can feel the age however and the supernatural elements can be off putting. Fans of Penumbra and Amnesia should feel at home.

At first Pathologic 2 was going to be a remake of Pathologic and finally it has been a sequel. As complicated as its predecessor, it is a video game not suitable for everyone, its story is as hard as its playability.

Pathologic 2 is an experience, I’ll give it that. But not one I wish to spend any further time in. It’s just far too dull and painful. The most telling thing of all? I fell asleep playing. Pathologic 2 is out now for most systems, and just this month on PS4. If you are absolutely desperate for some contagion related entertainment, you can do a lot better than this.
Pathologic 2 is an interesting game that's flawed by poor use of its mechanics and boring gameplay loop. The story would be definitely worth exploring if it weren't for the terrible optimization and constant loading screens.

We are facing a hard, difficult and often frustrating game, but one that has an atmosphere like few others and that the difficulty options will allow it to reach a wider audience. However, poor console performance tarnishes an experience that could have been almost outstanding.

Pathologic 2 does a fine job of capturing the feelings of a town under distress, though it can feel like a painful chore to play with technical glitches and loading times hindering the experience overall.
The best way to describe Pathologic 2 is to imagine a parallel world where Tarkovsky is a video game maker. Pathologic 2 shows a world on the verge of annihilation, and a hero who is looking for redemption on a dark path.

Pathologic 2 is odd and very unsettling. Just to make sure you never get a breath of fresh air in a town that’s going insane, the game is extremely punishing, and your 12 days of hell pass by sluggishly. Although the game will be getting a difficulty setting, the difficulty of the game was personally enjoyable. The only true downsides were the arguably unusable combat system and repetitive models.
Pathologic 2 is survival horror at its most challenging and rewarding. A horror game which plagues you both literally and psychologically. It certainly isn’t for everyone but it is a testament to what games can be at their best. Story telling gold. Whilst it isn’t fun, it isn’t meant to be.
