Critic Reviews for Trover Saves the Universe
Trover Saves the Universe is a short and sweet VR platformer wrapped in one of the most ridiculous and funny video game stories you'll ever see.
A rare, honest-to-goodness video game comedy that will delight Rick and Morty fans but also features some imaginative use of VR.
Combat, puzzles, and exploration feel familiar and unspectacular, but the bizarre story and hilarious dialogue set it apart
Justin Roiland's usual obnoxious humor is both the best and worst thing about an otherwise no-frills platformer.
Trover Saves the Universe is still going to be laugh-out-loud funny no matter how you approach it, but the additional context and enhanced mechanics when using a headset make it a little bit sweeter. Just approach it as more of a comedy experience that happens to be a platformer.
While it’s a bummer for those without VR, the game’s commitment to virtual reality is something the medium could always use more of, even if it comes alongside a foul-mouthed Eyehole Monster who once fucked shrinkle when he thought it was a dinkle.
From a gameplay standpoint, Trover it's a simple game, one with simple mechanics and easy to play. What makes it special it's the dialogs, the humor y the nonsense situations you can live in it, making it a continous gag hard to not laugh at it... if you like the kind of humor of series like Rick y Morty. If that's not the case, run away from it.

To say Trover Saves the Universe is a good VR game would be an understatement. It perfectly blends over-the-top comedy and solid combat while making the most of the VR technology at hand by dragging players into the world and making them centre of the story. Its brand of comedy will not be to everyone's liking, but I still think Trover Saves the Universe stands on its own as one of the best VR games released to date.
