GreedFall, the new Action-RPG from French studio Spiders, is overly ambitious for its own good, getting bogged down with bugs and poorly implemented ideas.

Overall, GreedFall is a step in the right direction for Spiders and I hope to see them continue delivering the messages that they do, that they don’t stop being as creative as they are, and venture forth once more unto the breeches of astonishingly well done audiovisual designs.

GreedFall is the next Dragon Age or Witcher experience in everything but name. Spiders delivers a fantastic fantasy action-RPG that you do not want to miss.

All in all, it takes HOURS to be able to really sink into GreedFall’s immense world, its cultures and its lore. It takes hours more to start discovering tiny details that can change entire outcomes for the future of your character’s world. Combined with a good character leveling system and gameplay mechanics, GreedFall is a solid RPG and probably Spider’s best work so far.

Greedfall is an ambitious and, at times, enjoyable RPG that makes use of its unique setting to deliver a story full of intrigue and compelling themes. However, its clumsy presentation, slow gameplay and bug-prone nature leave it a game that always feels a few steps away from greatness. Greedfall definitely has its moments, but unfortunately, you’ll have to break through its severely rough exterior to find them.

For me, as a devout fan of the Dragon Age franchise, GreedFall has definitely filled the gap in my life.

Overall, Greedfall is an amazing game that many will have fun with. While not to say that Greedfall has left a mark in history, it is nevertheless quite the RPG that players can drown themselves in. You will spend hours upon hours in this game grinding your character from the ground up to become take out any opposition and craft your own ending.

Greedfall isn't bad by any means and you can tell that Spiders gave it their all this time. However, they weren't able to fulfill their huge ambitions completely. The competition remains superior.

I enjoyed my time with GreedFall, but it's already failed to leave a lasting impression on me. Its best moments shine bright and show how much potential Spiders has to develop in this style of RPG, but it isn't cohesive enough to work in concert. GreedFall is certainly worth checking out if you're aching for the old days of BioWare, but it's a tough sell for most others.

If you want to take on the role of a diplomat with a lot of character and dialogue choices, GreedFall is still worth picking up. There is a great world and story here waiting to be explored if you can look past its shortcomings. If your the type of player that skips cut-scenes and dialogue, look elsewhere.

Despite a small development team and limited budget, a lot of thought and effort has gone into designing the interwoven narrative and gameplay elements in GreedFall, with nothing feeling underutilised or overdone.

With a great blend of open-world gameplay, visually interesting locations and a detailed branching story, Greedfall places itself as one of the best RPGs of this year.

GreedFall punches way above its weight thanks to some excellent writing, surprisingly in-depth RPG mechanics, a strong presentation and plenty of interesting quest lines. Whilst it's a little rough around the edges in areas such as the undeniably poor lip syncing and occasional bugs, this is still a fantastic RPG. GreedFall is well worth the asking price - RPG fans will find a lot to love here.

GreedFall has some of the most compelling characters and storylines so far this year. Unfortunately, they're buried by dated technology and a serious lack of polish.

The RPG systems at play here are so robust and deep that RPG fans simply shouldn’t miss out on the game, even if the combat feels a bit clunky at times, the voyage to Teer Fradee was well worth it for me in the end. Keep in mind that this game from Spiders Interactive costs a bit less than your standard AAA title, so it is definitely a bargain with the amount of content it provides.

GreedFall might finally be the game that puts its studio's name among some of the best RPG makers of current day. Sure, there are still technical issues and the combat system could use more polish, but the general concept is applied so masterfully that one can hardly hide their enjoyment of this colonial era concoction of story, world design and RPG.

Greedfall is undoubtedly a must buy for all lovers of RPGs and good stories. It's not perfect for the combat theme, the exploration problems and the depth of customization, but all the pillars of the game are solid enough to consider it a remarkable product.

While it starts shaky, Greedfall grows into a comforting and satisfying RPG. It may feel a bit behind the times, but the art design and original story should be given credit and it is good to see this developer releasing something that mostly delivers on its promise.
