GreedFall Reviews
GreedFall's epic, morally complex tale of exploration and swashbuckling is enjoyable just about every step of the way.
GreedFall's combat, dialogue, and romance are overshadowed by better RPGs, but it's competent enough to recommend with caveats.
Taking notes from roleplaying greats, GreedFall makes up for its faults with a lot of spirit.
One of the most interesting video game settings of the year and while the game has numerous issues the strong combat and inventive quest design make it well worth persevering with.
GreedFall's writing is solid, and the player choice is fun to engage in, but the game needs polish and more meaningful action
GreedFall wants to be a great big game, but without the resources of a huge publisher, many of its components feel half-baked.
Greedfall is an enjoyable jaunt, but it follows its influences a little too closely and fails to engage with its narrative themes in any meaningful manner.
When I first saw Greedfall, I wanted to believe that it could, in spite of a charged setting, explore complex ideas. Instead, it skims the surface all the way up to its weak conclusion.
I enjoyed my time with GreedFall, but it's already failed to leave a lasting impression on me. Its best moments shine bright and show how much potential Spiders has to develop in this style of RPG, but it isn't cohesive enough to work in concert. GreedFall is certainly worth checking out if you're aching for the old days of BioWare, but it's a tough sell for most others.
It's a shame that a good game is held back by incredibly boring design decisions. I think Greedfall is on the verge of greatness but falls short in too many areas to really go down as a must-play. It's absolutely an enjoyable romp, just one plagued by the thought of what could have been.
Greedfall has an ambitious story, but it's not backed up by the clearly repeated environments, simple combat and dull abilities that take ages to unlock. Seasoned RPG players might well be able able to look past those flaws in favour of the interesting, well written stories about political manoeuvres and oppression that make up the bulk of the quests in this pretty dark, deep world.
A solid proposal to any fan of action RPGs. It's not groundbreaking and it takes almost all of its ingredients from other games, but it sure delivers a profound and versatile experience.

Spider’s latest RPG is one that follows a privileged hero on a quest to cure the disease plaguing his people.
Despite its flaws and a far from perfect technical experience, Greedfall is an intringuing action RPG set in a charming and unique setting.

Finally Spiders show their great quality with Greedfall. A remarkable Action-RPG full of content, which will give hours of fun to the genre. With an even bigger budget I could have aimed higher.

It would be misleading to ignore the many borrowed ideas and means to appease long-time fans of past WRPGs and current action RPGs alike.
Fans of the genre will still enjoy the broad narrative, exciting combat and deep RPG mechanics. Those returning just for the DLC might be disappointed, but newcomers will have a good time with Greedfall Gold Edition.
Greedfall is held back by performance issues and a tendency to fill its space with tedious padding, but it's saved by fun combat and an intriguing story.
Greedfall’s fantasy world doesn’t shy away from brushing up against real history, which makes it a refreshing change of pace in a genre filled with medieval fantasy and space operas. And when it comes to creating the kinds of worlds, plots and characters that make an RPG worth caring about, Greedfall does a remarkable job within its smaller scope.
This is a step in the right direction for Spiders, but they still have a lot of work to do.
