I rather liked its undemanding nature, as it meant I was better able to enjoy this five hour romp and relish its superb character work. Yes, it’s a rather slight detective game compared to your heavyweights of the genre, but its winsome cast, gorgeous music and sharp writing go a long way to make up for it.

Tangle Tower is a delightful time all the way through. Its gorgeous art style, animation, intriguing mystery, and full voice acting make it stand out, even among the best of its contemporaries. While the ending does feel rushed, there's still plenty here to love and it only makes me want more of Detective Grimoire and Sally's sleuthing.

Tangle Tower is a very excellent presentation of a very short game. It feels like a mobile game, and has a very short play time of 5 hours, with no incentive to replay. If this was a $5 game it would be a lot easier to recommend, but as it stands,

‎This proposal requires dedication, patience and a lot of reading. Although it has no action, it has a simple story that causes curiosity and will surely make you have a good time. It is important to be the age as recommended by the game (13 years) because you will undoubtedly have to analyze, interact and put everything of yourself. In some moments it becomes somewhat monotonous, but it leads you to that need for closure, to know who is to blame and see that list of credits at the end so longed for.‎

Tangle Tower is an exemplary addition to the point-and-click genre, providing superb puzzles and very well written dialogue, backed up by some of the finest voiceover work in recent memory. A few of the character interactions may drag on a bit too long in places as you try and uncover every piece of evidence available to you, and there's little reason to play through the game multiple times. But to be honest, these are very minor gripes considering just how much fun we had in the company of Detectives Grimoire and Sally.

I can tell a lot of passion went into this game. There are just so many details, and the character's personalities are really reflected in body language and vocals. I would highly recommend you check out Tange Tower. It's amazing!

Charming, original, and terrifically paced, Tangle Tower is a strong contender for the best point-and-click adventure of 2019. Puzzles require real wit without bogging readers down with irrelevant information. Each screen is filled to the brim with detail, blending colour and lighting into a living, breathing tower. Only a few hours long with a gripping mystery at the centre of its plot, Tangle Tower is a must play for fans of the genre.

Tangle Tower has everything that you would require of such experience, its art-style is mesmerizing, the music is fantastic, and the characters are weird and intriguing, but keep in mind that puzzles lack challenge and the price point is 20$ for a 5 hours max game.

The overall case is somewhat neat and tidy - it won't take you much more than a few hours to solve the mystery - but the journey along the way is enjoyable. The voice acting and standout art and animation fits the distinctive characters very well, and with few exceptions, the puzzles and deduction sequences are engaging and brain-wrinkling. I hope this is the start of a new era in Detective Grimoire's career, because I wouldn't mind revisiting this world and gameplay style again soon.

Tangle Tower is still worth exploring despite its issues, especially for those with access to Apple Arcade. At it's piecemeal $20 price tag, though, the game's flaws are less forgivable.

The game idea is traditionally good, the story interesting, the puzzles good, the ideas and loving details abundant: I was about to recommend Tangle Tower as a real alternative to Professor Layton - when the game was suddenly far too early, far too abrupt and above all over with far too many open questions and logic holes. All the work and effort that SFB Games put into character drawing and building a great mystery in the first few hours suddenly coincides like a house of cards. Maybe it was due to a lack of time or resources - after all, there aren't even any puzzles left towards the end. Tangle Towers should be a little adventure pearl with its quirky characters, high-quality presentation and good puzzles - but it stumbles over a much too early, abrupt and illogical ending.

GREAT - Developed by the studio that brought us Snipperclips, Tangle Tower is a highly entertaining whodunit murder mystery that’s sort of a cross between an interactive graphic novel and a point and click adventure game. It features fantastic art and animation combined with a truly amazing soundtrack and superb voice acting to really make the experience memorable. By the end I was yearning for more – and hopefully I’ll get it in the future!
