Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Reviews
Outside of some technical hiccups and some boring fetch quests, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's colorful presentation and over-the-top battles should appeal to hardcore fans and baby-faced newcomers alike.
Overall, this Switch version stands up right next to the other versions of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, and I was pleasantly surprised by it. While some things could be better in the game as a whole it doesn't deter from the overall enjoyment of the story of Dragon Ball. I personally would like to have seen this one start all the way back in Dragon Ball when we first meet everyone, which would truly be a Kakarot story. It is now available on the Switch for 59.99 USD. Have fun with it.
In the test "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" proves to be a successful action RPG, which lets fans of the series go back to the beginnings of anime. In the approximately forty hours of gameplay the player experiences the most important moments of the saga, which thanks to great staging know how to captivate even beginners. The fights are staged in a brute manner and especially the interaction with the supporting characters always brings variety to the battles. Only the side missions turn out to be rather tired accessories and go hand in hand with the somewhat lifeless game world. Nevertheless, Dragon Ball enthusiasts can indulge in nostalgia in "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" and will love the title especially for the detailed retelling of the original. Fans of fast-paced action RPGs won't be disappointed with "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" and will be challenged again and again. All in all, "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" may not be convincing in every detail - but the atmospheric staging of the story alone makes the game a real must-have.

While we sat there for many an hour watching Goku yell and scream over an exaggerated amount of episodes to finally hit Super Saiyan on Frieza’s pale and purple behind, being able to physically land the final blow on evil emperor makes everything come full circle in what I consider to be the ultimate nostalgic set piece of any fan of this incredible franchise. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, is a must have and must play experience for fans of this generous and enthralling generational franchise.
Taking the concept of an open world RPG and going all out on the nostalgia, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a retelling of the iconic series.
For the Nintendo Switch owners, who also happen to be fans of Dragonball Z franchise, one of the best of all has now become available for the popular handheld. New addition of difficulty adjustments allow you to enjoy the game as close as the original manga’s anointed amount of power levels for each character and new story contents will let you extend the play time up to 50 hours of gameplay. But if you’re new to the immense world of DBZ, there will be several obstacles that may bring some disappointments. It’s a fitting game to remind you of the grand sentiments that you felt from the original animated series.

EXCELLENT - Eat, train, and fight like Goku and all the other Z Fighters now from the comfort of your Flying Nimbus! The Switch version is a great way to play through this lengthy game!
Kamehameha! A great action experience in the Dragon Ball Z universe.
Overall, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a highly entertaining game that's faithful to the franchise. It accurately depicts the nostalgic events of the series' earlier stories, and the gameplay engages the player while doing so.
A true gift to any Dragon Ball fan that works really well as an open world ARPG. It's not without flaws, but its length and dynamics are a safe bet.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a huge step forward in the titles centered on the narrative of Akira Toriyama, and although there are moments that manage to live up to the original anime or even exceed it, the general feeling does not end up being so voluminous.

An essential single player Dragon Ball game for new fans and series veterans alike. Although it's a little slow paced and has some painful load times, no game has felt more "Dragon Ball" than Kakarot. Great combat, deep systems and a huge variety of content make this package a joy to sink your hours into
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a buffet of gameplay, ideas and diversions. It is a game that makes no bones at who it has in its crosshairs, aimed squarely at the fans who have made Dragon Ball Z the global phenomenon that it is. Much like its source material, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot isn't without faults but its enduring spirit of facing overwhelming odds head-on and conquering them, is one lesson that it has succeeded in learning.
When compared to other open-world RPGs, I cannot honestly say that DBZ: Kakarot is by any means an amazing game. However, it is certainly the best Dragon Ball Z experiences of our time.
If you are looking for a serious fighting game, this is not for you. I would point this player to something more like Dragon Ball Z Fighters. If you are looking for a game that brings out your inner dragon ball anime-loving child then this is perfect for you.
DBZ: Kakarot + A New Power Awakens Set is packed full of epic fights, side quests, and a good amount of free DLC. The game looks and plays great on the Switch. I highly recommend it for fans of the series.
This is the DBZ RPG that we have been waiting for since the Legacy of Goku series on the Gameboy Advance. The game gets repetitive after a while and the battles can be too easy and mindless, but there's a lot of heart and attention to detail in this title.
It took a long time, but with Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Bandai Namco finally fulfills the wishes of many fans. Even if the story is already known several times, the combat system and the game world provide exciting moments and know how to convince connoisseurs as well as newcomers. In addition, the Japanese developers have learned from the mistakes of various anime implementations and thereby created a gaming experience that more than lives up to the template.

While it’s not perfect, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is an incredibly enjoyable experience. Not just a retelling of the story, but ultimately the definitive way to play the Dragon Ball Z saga.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a feast for anime fans and it's incredible in terms of BOSS fight, story, and the open world.
