This hardcore off-road driving sim is focused and compelling, but just a bit too austere for its own good.
Overpass is a unique style of racing game with solid foundations, but it feels like there wasn't enough time or budget to give it the polish it deserves. That's a shame. There's a niche here which I'd like to spend more time in, but some of the frustrations run too deep for me to return anytime soon. Overpass remains a novel concept with some rough edges.
Overpass is an interesting and unique take on the driving genre, but issues in the most integral areas of the game often make it a chore to play.
OVERPASS is a technical, adventurous off-road, where the skill lies more in knowing the terrain than in sinking on the accelerator. One of a kind, dirty and fun, albeit with some technical burrs.

Overpass's unique physics system and emphasis on balance might be enough to win over the most dedicated of off-road racing fans, but its shallow progression systems and monotonous gameplay loop greatly limit its appeal.
Overpass has a neat idea at its core, but it's struggled to pull it off effectively. Surmounting treacherous terrain against the clock is sadly not as fun as it sounds, and you're more likely to get frustrated by the iffy handling and strict rules. There's the kernel of a good game here, and we don't doubt some people will enjoy overcoming this game's challenges, but a lack of polish where it matters most puts this game between a rock and a hard place.
I have raced many a game but Overpass brings something new and unique to the racing genre. If you have a FFB wheel give this game a try. If not, only off-road racing fanatics will find something here to keep them coming back.
There's really no way to gild this filthy lily - Overpass is an infuriating and deeply unsatisfying experience which should be given a wide berth by anyone who values their sanity.
As they say, hell is paved with good intentions. And with Overpass, the intention was good. But its shortcomings in the modeling of vehicle reactions unfortunately do not allow to devote to it diligently. Maybe by helping the player a little more to understand why he fails (an index of motricity for example), by offering him replays or real training in such events, there would have been room for improvement. But as it stands, Overpass is more a source of frustration than pleasure.

Overpass is an awkward, ornery racing game that stubbornly refuses to indulge your need for speed and instant gratification.
We hope, however, that in the future the team will be able to take the right path, because with some tricks and greater optimization, it could assemble a respectable racing game.

Overpass looks the part, but it lacks the physicality to allow its players to truly get to grips with its obstacle-focused racing gameplay.
There is a lot to like about Overpass. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of issues.
A profoundly boring racing game that initially holds your hand, then tears it off and eats it. Overpass is too hard, too irritating, and just too damn loathsome an experience to recommend in any way.
There just isn't enough feedback to the player to get a better grasp of the necessary mechanics.
Overpass has something interesting ideas, but fails in the attempt of putting them all together, with a flawed balance in the difficulty and not-so-believable physics. It's a shame, because the game has a lot of personality and modes – yet, it feels frustrating.

The motor screaming out, stuck in second gear
Overpass tries to satisfy a more thoughtful approach, blending puzzle elements into a racing game. But it offers little to appeal to fans of either genre, leaving a game without much of an identity – or purpose.
Overpass certainly adds an interesting take on the genre, allowing for well-trodden ground to feel fresh. Unfortunately the difficulty of the game and poor handling will prevent most from making it past the tutorial.
When it's fun it can be really fun, but when it's bad it can be really frustrating.
