Half-Life: Alyx has its flaws, though these are hard to focus on when no other game offers an experience such as this. For now, Half-Life: Alyx is an absolute must-play title for both Half-Life fans and VR enthusiasts or anyone that has an opportunity to play it.
An absolute masterpiece, Valve returns to the saga that made it famous with a game that offers totally original elements, fully integrated into the main canon and with a level of detail and interaction between objects rarely seen in any game. A virtual reality system is worth purchasing for this game alone.

Half-Life: Alyx a fantastic achievement, and if there was one title to convince someone that games can stand on their own unique artistic merit, this is surely it.

It’s refreshing to have a game that focuses on telling a full fledged story experience on a platform that is mostly stretching its legs with gameplay tech demos. It just so happens that this full fledged story is also a Half-Life game that also lives up to its predecessors and ties in nicely with them.
Half-Life: Alyx is one of the pinnacles of what VR has to offer right now. Every aspect of the game is carefully crafted to be comfortable and fun for both newcomers and VR elitists.

Half-Life: Alyx is not just a prequel. We are dealing with a tangible, independent entry into the franchise. It's a shame that not every fan can experience this story for themselves, because Valve did such an incredible job in the final that I couldn't stop being amazed. I don't want to give too much away either, because this, this is something big. End Episode Two big, to stay in the familiar terminology. However, the 15 hours before the credits are also fun and keep you in a good mood throughout. The reunion with old acquaintances, learning new skills in VR or a deeper immersion into the stories around the legendary "Gordon Freeman", whom the young Alyx only knows from stories and rumors: I approached the title with high expectations and Valve actually delivered.

Half-Life: Alyx is a full VR experience the platform needed years ago. Its great story and interactive environment shows what you can do with virtual reality and a larger budget, and I hope this game blazes a path forward for more high quality VR experiences in the future.
Half-Life: Alyx will go down as a watershed moment for VR gaming. Valve's years of work in VR are on full display here, featuring gameplay memories that will last a lifetime.
In those halcyon days for Valve, there was no way of knowing that Half-Life fans would have to wait more than a decade for a new entry in the hallowed franchise. But twelve years, five months, and thirteen days later, a strange thing happened: a new Half-Life game released. It’s called Half-Life: Alyx, and it’s brilliant.
It’s equal parts enchanting and terrifying, and it’s sure to be one of the turning points in VR for many of us.
Put in plain terms, if Beat Saber put VR on the map, then Half Life Alyx is the reason you chart a course. It's everything VR has needed and the return to a classic franchise we've been waiting for.
Half-Life: Alyx is billed as a VR return to the series, and that's exactly what it delivers. It does what Half-Life has historically done well, and without the clouding of nostalgia or unhelpful notions of what constitutes "revolutionary" design, it ranks alongside Half-Life 2.
