I am impressed with 2020’s first fighting game offering. Not only will veterans enjoy the best of both a Street Fighter and an anime fighter title, but newbies will have fun getting into an accessible fighting game that gets deeper over time.

I have to say Granblue Fantasy: Versus exceeded my expectations by miles. There is a great amount of single player content. RPG Mode is a ton of fun. The story is pretty basic but it’s fun for old players to see some of their favorites in a new adventure and a great introduction for new players. The gameplay is easy enough for anyone to pick up on and deep enough for advance players to still have fun with. This game is just simply a lot of fun. If you have a passing interest in Granblue Fantasy you should pick this up. If you’re a fan of fighting games looking for something different I think you will find a lot to love here as well!

Granblue Fantasy Versus is some of the most fun I've had with a fighting game in a long time, and one I'd recommend players with varying skill levels.

Arc System Works have only continued to hone their craft and have offered this stunning, smooth and fast-paced fighter as a testament to that. I don’t think it’ll have as big an audience as other genre mainstays, but if you’re a fan of Guilty Gear or Dragonball FighterZ, this is well worth checking out.

We are facing a franchise that is going to give a lot to talk about in the next generation, because playably it is "bocato di cardinale", artistically it has no rival or it has very few, and this will only improve with the next characters that will be added , settings, and who knows if modes. If you like fighting games, if you like its aesthetics, don't miss it.

For those longing to pass time, this game will do it and it offers quite a bit of replayability for those looking for both online and offline options. The best part of it all is the thing that seems to be the least mentioned route: Local multiplayer options. It's fun and it does give the game an extra lifeline for those wanting to have something to play with their friends.

As the first game in the Granblue Fantasy series released in the west, Versus doesn’t make much of a case for the series. What it is though is a great anime fighter that fans of the genre will enjoy. Versus doesn’t dumb down its mechanics to make it more accessible and the art style is consistently stunning. It’s a shame the games story mode feels so forgettable and has little gameplay variety over its short length. The game feels like more of a love letter to the fighting game genre than the game/anime series it’s drawn from. Once taken on those merits, Versus offers a lot for fans of the fighting game genre. It offers a fun and dense combat system, a beautiful art style and a lot of options for players who enjoy it. Though it doesn’t have the variety in fighters that other fighters in the genre do. There’s a decent amount of variety between them. It might not do enough to sway hardcore fans of the genre from their fighter of choice. But it offers a decent starting point for newcomers and continues to show Arc System Works grip on the fighting game formula.

Granblue Fantasy Versus is not the best adaptation possible, but overall it is an attractive title. If you're looking for a title that introduces you to the professional world of Fighting, Granblue Fantasy Versus is a great start.

Granblue Fantasy Versus, is another essential game for digital fighting enthusiasts. Although it is a franchise little recognized in the West, its history, characters and above all gameplay will certainly bring this title to the fore and to competitive stages. This is a high quality product, the same one that arc system works has already accustomed us to.

Granblue Fantasy Versus has a few issues, but it’s an excellent game for fighting game newcomers and people who want a simpler fighter for a change. The story is thin and repetitive, but the varied characters and strong visuals mostly make up for these issues.

These presentation issues definitely temper my excitement for what is easily one of the more accessible fighting games I’ve had the opportunity to play. Then again, that feeling of accessibility likely comes from the fact that I’ve mostly focused on the single-player mode here – a mode that everyone, not just fighting gamers, can enjoy.

Overall, I came in knowing very little about Granblue Fantasy, and I came out not knowing much more. Despite this, Granblue Fantasy Versus is a unique and competent fighter.

This might be the first time in which a fighting game with such a horrendously small roster size hasn’t infuriated me to death. Granblue Fantasy: Versus‘ single player campaign is so lengthy and enjoyable that it made me almost forget that there’s also an arcade mode in it. It felt more like a side-scrolling action RPG first with an arcade fighting mode added as a bonus, and I’m fine with that.
