The original arcs that are told exclusively within Lycoris only gentrify admiration told within its the overall narrative told in this virtual world of constant chaos. My love for Sword Art Online will remain firm, and Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris resuscitates its stimulus to create an incredible gaming chapter for this marvelous franchise.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris marks a new era of Sword Art Online games, both graphically and narratively. This is an adventure for fans and newcomers that truly builds upon this virtual world through new characters and hundreds of quests. The downside is that you may have to clear a lengthy first chapter to discover everything it has to offer, but luckily for those who do, there’s so much awaiting them. There’s still some quality-of-life work that needs to be done in terms of loading times and assist pop-ins, but as a fan of the previous SAO games, this entry simply blew me away.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is a great combination for anime lovers and fans of fast-paced role-playing games. The variety of weapons in the game are very good and the game has a lot to offer. With a rich world and multiplayer section, the underworld experience is lovely. However, many technical glitches, poor side quests, and poor auto-save system sometimes damage the gaming experience.

For fans of the franchise, it’s a purchase. Either at launch or the minute it gets to a “too good to pass up” sale. Especially when it’s such a popular series, and in this case a very popular arc that’s been adapted. For people who aren’t already in the know, nothing about the game is designed to bring people in. Little marketing, gameplay trailers unashamedly show off all the flaws, and the Japanese only voice acting is a huge deal-breaker for many in the west. For me personally though, I fall into the former category.

‎Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is a more "exclusive" game for fans of the saga, although of course, everyone can enjoy it in the same way; but he should have the minimum knowledge of the characters and the plot. Unlike previous installments, in this one it does not "refresh your memory" and omit the different important events that have been happening until we reach where we are today. ‎

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is a fun RPG for fans of the series, but it requires a lot of effort from the player to learn its rules and settings. The pace is really mixed at times and the various glitches make it frustrating, but exploring the huge environments of Underworld and battling the big beasts with your favorite character is fun if you can overcome these problems.

Not ever did I think the game was downright bad or poorly made, but rarely was I taken or impressed by anything going on from a story or gameplay perspective.

At its launch, Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris suffered from a lot of game bugs that certainly put off players, especially given its high price tag.

Optimization issues aside, Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is a solid entry in to the SAO game series. Inviting visuals, recognizable characters, and action packed battles await those willing to put in the time to get past chapter one.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is a game that many will love, but many more will not. With some interest in the source material and a passion for the JRPG space, there's probably 100 hours worth of content here for dedicated players. Unfortunately, glaringly obvious technical problems hinder what would otherwise be an amazing Sword Art Online game.

Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris is definitely the best game the SAO series has ever seen; The more mature gameplay than ever attracts ordinary players and fans, and the rich content that is offered both online and offline, is well worth the experience. The story of the game is not the best anime narrative possible, but its recentness puts it above other similar narratives. Unfortunately, despite its many advantages, Lycoris suffers from many technical problems with controlling the game camera angles, and some of its components are not as strong as others. With all these interpretations, Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris can be called a fairly good title and an attractive adaptation that every fan should experience.

The narrative, characters and combat are among the strongest points, but many of the features in the game make it seem incomplete, there’s some censorship, the game is poorly optimized.

An enjoyable RPG with some pacing issues, Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is a lot of fun once you get to grips with its combat and leveling systems. The decision to lock multiplayer behind 10 hours of content is baffling, but once you unlock it you'll have a good time exploring the MMO-like world with friends.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris boasts one of the most fun combat systems I’ve seen in a SAO game to date, replete with a nice selection of weapon types and playstyles to boot. It’s just unfortunate how that fun combat is gated behind an unevenly paced narrative that tends to overstay its welcome at times — and I’m a proponent for more storytelling in games. The game won’t be for everyone. Folks who are willing to break through its wall of text, however, will find some great action hidden behind all that exposition.

METACRITIC: Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris had the potential to be a standout game with a dynamic battle system and good RPG mechanics. However, the pacing is agonizingly slow and has unforgivable tecnical issues. Sadly, it's only recomended for fans of the series or players with máximum patience.

Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris is only recommendable for hardcore fans of the series. Only than you can overlook the terrible narrative and arduous fighting system. What makes this game especially exhausting is the bad technical performance which leads to a lot of frustrating moments, that shouldn't happen in this console generation anymore.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris tries to experiment with too many different mechanics without making them too compelling, and that's hampered by a lackluster technical production. It's anyway got a good basis, and SAO fans will definitely appreciate its depiction of the anime's universe and the huge levels of fan service present.
