Unlike some open-world games, Infinity Nikki grants you the freedom to explore the world while simultaneously presenting challenges and puzzles. The graphics and animation are top-notch, and despite the optimization issues—which can be overlooked—the game has so much to offer. If the dress-up genre is your favorite genre, then Infinity Nikki will surely win your heart, and you’ll be in the game for countless hours.
Those familiar with the series might give Mario & Luigi: Brothership a solid addition to the franchise; for most of the general public, however, it really isn't a groundbreaking title. For dedicated RPG fans who tend to prefer more robust and immersive experiences, perhaps this won't quite cut it.
Songs of Silence really tried to reach for the stars and do a lot. It strove to be a good 4x game that took elements from all across the Strategy mega-genre. It tried to ditch all of the Civ-based gameplay mechanics, but with that came too much simplicity. A large part of the game feels very barebones. The game may look great, but it has hardly anything worth of substance.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl covers almost everything, from the dynamics of the world and combat to crafting and survival systems — everything is truly special. Graphics, sound design, plus storytelling are all on the highest level; that's why it doesn't really matter if you are a fan of the series or if it's your first time.
With frequent updates adding both new agents and more endgame content, it's capable of cementing its status as one of Hoyoverse's most successful titles. For now, though, it's a bright, brilliant, and slightly overwhelming experience that might not quite reach the dizzying heights of some of its siblings but is nonetheless a real testament to Hoyoverse's imagination and craft.
Hearts of Iron IV: Götterdämmerung is one of Paradox's better ones, giving you access to a wide variety of content and expanding the grand strategy brand. It wouldn't be a paradox DLC if it didn't have its hiccups, but regardless, it's a fine addition to Hearts of Iron IV.
Mindcop is a fresh and exciting take on the detective genre, blending innovative time-based mechanics with compelling puzzles and a gripping story. Its unique gameplay and stunning visuals make it a standout despite a challenging learning curve. It is a must-play for fans of mystery and puzzle games.
LEGO Horizon Adventures offers a fun, lighthearted spin on the Horizon series. The trademark humor and charm of LEGO games are all here. While the game stylistically nails translating the world of Horizon into LEGO, the simplistic gameplay, repetition, and lackluster level design hold it back.
DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake, while incorporating contemporary elements, is able to successfully polish a masterpiece that has remained a classic for years. The new graphics and engaging music stand out as the highlights of the remade products without failing to invoke the required nostalgia.
ZEPHON is a great 4X game that stands as a testament to how much a developer can improve if given the right resources. It does so much to make its game all that more fun with its deep lore, mechanics, and rich combat design. The price is also perfect, and despite its hiccups, one cannot help but applaud the game and recommend it to any 4X or Strategy fan.
Unlike the original Metal Slug game, Metal Slug Tactics also appears to be lacking in content and variety, which is a major problem. Once you've completed a few missions, it could seem like you've seen it all. Although there is a good deal of variety in playable characters and loadouts, the variety of enemies and missions is quite low. The game isn't for you if you want a complex and fascinating turn-based RPG tale.
Monarchy is a finely crafted game that does everything right in its ability to combine strategic gameplay with incredible design, both in terms of art and gameplay. It offers delightful visuals, captivating mechanics, a well-balanced difficulty, and an array of mysteries and non-linear progression.
Empire of the Ants is charming and detail-oriented, if a little empty on the inside. Aside from the immense atmosphere and graphical feats, however, the gameplay starts to become glaring the longer you play. The UI is cluttered and covers up most of the beautiful visuals.
This Remastered version would be a wonderful chance to step into one of the most favorite PlayStation 4 games for those who haven't stepped into the shoes of Horizon Zero Dawn yet or for those who have never completed the previous game. For new players and former fans, it is still an exciting enhancement, as it provides an improved version of already great gameplay and graphics.
We were really hoping Dragon Age: The Veilguard would be the big, satisfying comeback that would remind us why BioWare was once an RPG powerhouse. But it just doesn’t make the cut. Instead, it makes us wonder if BioWare can still create games like the Mass Effect trilogy and the early Dragon Age titles as they did. If this is what the future of Dragon Age looks like, maybe it’s time to give the series a break.
If you have enjoyed such games as Hollow Knight and Blasphemous in the past or haven't ever tried them, I think Voidwrought is worth your time. The luscious, eerie world is brimming with depth for $19.99. Players of the genre will find this one to be a great addition to their collection. Voidwrought is a must-play if you love atmospheric platforming, ancient souls-like mystery solving, and intense boss fights.
Red Dead Redemption is a masterpiece that endures. Sure, it's a little rough around the edges, and the price point for this rerelease feels like a bit of a reach, but what you're getting is a weird little piece of gaming history story-driven experience that rarely comes along in such an unfiltered form.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure is yet another addition to the series that never quite hit the same highs after its initial success with the original. This title feels like the series at its lowest. Not even the return of the beloved main character of the first game was enough to save just how shallow the writing of the game feels after episode 2.
It’s quite easy to have you captivated by the plot and the innovative gameplay features that are introduced in Ys X: Nordics. You’ll rarely come across any dull moment because of all the fast-paced action RPG combat, exploration, special Mana skills, and not to mention the memorable music that makes up the game.
Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of The Seven is a remarkable game, building on a title that was ahead of its time. It brings a lot of flavor and uniqueness to the scene. For a JRPG, it has a somewhat generic story while still being pretty compelling. For a Generational game, it lacks many of the general facets of the genre, yet it manages quite well to bring it together.
