The developers of Overpass have put in massive efforts to make the game's value as high as a Triple-A title. Unfortunately, the expectations were way too high and it didn't really fulfill the satisfactory level of implementations. There's definitely a demands for games that require you to put in endless effort and time into, but some of the game's achievements do not really justify the time you would invest into, nor provide further encouragement to continue on. At least this game is another gem in its genre due to its rarity between other similar titles. It serves as a good influence for any follow up games that are planned to be released in the 'racing game' genre family.

The most affordable fighting game on the Nintendo Switch, yet it only provides typical modes to play against the AI and no online multiplayer mode in sight, Chaos Code: New Sign of Catastrophe fails to deliver the value for the fighting game fans to even think about purchasing this game. Surprisingly, the battle mechanics are very polished and learning the combo mechanics can be a fun challenge for those who seek complex and accurate executions required in flashy combos. But in the end, will that be satisfying enough?

Panzer Dragoon: Remake has made its revival for its hardcore fans. We may not get to experience the same hype when the original was released, but definitely carries the volume to provide another run down the emotional hype train. While it could be worth a permanent spot in your Nintendo Switch, if you weren't a loyal fan of this series, it could be questionable. Compared to modern games that come with unlockables, bonus content and easter eggs, there's only one cycle of play through with relatively short storyline.

The retail price may not justify the amount of gameplay time that will satisfy the experience to the fullest but Bubble Bobble 4 Friends features a series first, 4 player simultaneous multiplayer. The Bubble Bobble franchis has had a national impact in the heart of gamers who lived through the Korean arcade culture. Those gamers will welcome the bonus feature of the original first iteration of the franchise. Another great family fun game great for parties and gatherings.

Playing the 'Strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde' allows the player to play through its original story with some interactivity elements. It may require some of your memorization skills to get you going, but that's really about it. The popularity of this literature title is the key ingredent of the game, yet it's also could be a case of some negative factors, being that there is nothing 'new' to the plot. For those who aren't familiar with reading may not have the best intended experience.

Ys: Memories of Celceta is a fast paced ARPG. Although it has been optimized into full HD resolution with 60fps, it will take some time for your eyes to get used to the new graphic vibe. If you're a long running fan of the Ys series, you can add another fun element of trying to find 'what has changed' from the 4th installment of the Ys title.

The series tradition of scavenging for items and conjuring materials and tools with alchemy has become far more ideal and enjoyable. The plot however, felt like a quick patch up of leftover question marks from the prequel. As a fan, It still packs a wholesome gameplay experience, as you get to discover what happened to all the characters in the 3 years since the first adventure.

We could tell that the developers definitely focused on aiming for the niche genre. The main structure of the game is strictly designed based on the keyboard typing mechanism, where the players can adjust the difficulty as they progress. Needless to say, they weren’t over extending when they chose the concept of the game’s promotion to look like educational material. Few nitpicks involve inconsistent frame drops, error on recognizing certain Korean key inputs and minor glitch appearances from few interactions. Perhaps it may be better to wait for some of the quality of life updates to be finalized before purchasing this game.

If you’re looking for some chill and generic action-adventure experience, Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood is a perfect title to get by. It’s still enjoyable even while you’re trying to kill some time since the straight forward upgrade system makes minimum stress in developing strategies along the way. Unfortunately, most of the interactions were pretty typical and even when the plot thickens, the production quality wasn't as eye opening to be deemed very memorable. Most of the fun comes from the emphasis of the mechanics which allows you to transmorph into different wolf forms and switch some of the action into tactical infiltration. Since the game’s idea is fresh and promising, If they’re planning a sequel, we expect great improvements from the developers.

Among many roguelike TCG genres, this one seems to fill in the gaps that the existing games failed to do so. The game’s overall atmosphere is warm and cozy. But due to its warmth, while it may feel too simplistic, the design aspect is heavily committed to this rare genre, thus making it feel like they’re devoted to do their part. Some of the areas still feel incomplete but their efforts in making deck building easier for newcomers is a great feat. We’re hoping for continuous updates which would allow us to reveal new chapters.

Wonder Boy Returns Remix tries to keep its original game’s feel all while adding features to reconsider the new players delving into the game for the first time. For those returning players who wanted to reminisce the old days may feel a bit incomplete but the simplistic design of this game’s mechanic is proven to be welcome even after 30 years since the original release.

This is a story of love and despair filled with magnificent special effects and wonderful jazz music. It offers some basic puzzles as you progress, but way too simple that you might question whether this is a video game or not. The underwhelming curtain call doesn’t seem to support this question either. But one thing for sure, the scenes and music you experience will vividly remain in your mind for a long time even after your journey’s end.

Just like its original 20 years back, the level of difficulty and their hardcore missions have been well preserved to alert gamers to know their place, into despair. Sadly, the console versions of the game didn’t fully utilize the utility of a gamepad, thus creating a terrible control scheme to navigate through the game, paired with horrible camera controls which makes it a double negative.

Trails from Zero is a game that’s been out for over 10 years already, thus even a remaster won’t be able to fully transform the old school looks to something we’d expect in a modern game. Positively speaking, it still generates a retro feel JRPG with classic control schemes. Compared to its other titles, this particular Trails series has the smallest world and the protagonists are not as ‘heroic’ as we’d expect, rather close to an average joe, while they still go though all the rough adventures like any other hero would. This unique plot kind of makes them the most realistic heroes they’d ought to be, and they also never split apart during their journey and keep as a tight knit unit until the end. It’s inevitable that there are some nit picks to be found but if you’re into any other 2D JRPGs, Trails from Zero will keep you entertained as much as any other JRPGs would.

A horror action adventure game with a perfect balance of loveliness and nightmare fuel. The story is quite well made to show all the sides of the emotional rollercoaster without pressure. The day and night cycle makes the art style and sound effects flip around and the repeated enemy attack patterns are minimal in the 3 to 4 hour span of gameplay. There were some parts of the stages where the background and interactable objects were hard to distinguish, but everything else was perfect for a quick change of temperature in the recent hot summer days.

The Quarry has made its game complete with movie-like diverse character casts and technical achievements to be as immersive as possible. If you’re into gore and blood pouring horror themed stories, this would be your go to game. But with a dragging build up and dispirited sunrise after a long night of darkness may end up a little futile in the end.

While its loveable graphics and a story that brings warmth to everyone's hearts stay positive, the time spent on upgrading the best fishing rod may not be the best time you’ll ever spend in any video game. Gameplay wise, the tackling of the whole fishing action was pretty light and you would ask yourself the question whether it actually has any means to fishing in the end.

If you’re mainly after the lovable characters appearing from both franchises, it’s a decent game to play, considering as a fan service from the developers. The combat and mini-games are better than expected, but the world building and the focus on each character are not really maintained to show their true colors. The unique collision event from worlds of Senran Kagura and Neptunia has not really created the much needed synergy and had become somewhat of an average once off show.

Unlike its traditional series, this game tried its best at changing the entire genre, by introducing a whole new series of the ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’, it also comes with the biggest map size of all, still with plenty of animatronics which run towards you with unique personalities. One particular aspect to look out for, is the fact that the new glamorous looking Freddy is now your companion. Depending on the player’s decisions, there are alternate endings to seek. It’s a little unfortunate that you don’t get an in-game navigation system even with the larger scale of the map, lacking the convenience since its decision to take a jab at a new genre, which, in fact could also be the creative selling point to focus on a larger base of audience at the same time.

The difficulty level choice caters to both who want to chill or challenge. But it struggles to keep the concept of it being a samurai who travels to afterlife in order to save his beloved, with only things to remind of it is a katana wielding protagonist, and its in the edo era. Although the quality of the cut scenes may pierce through some hearts with waves of emotions, the gameplay may not be up to par to its production quality.
