Mouse: P.I. For Hire is a game that almost entirely succeeds in its mission, paying homage to the past without needing to invent (or reinvent) anything. It’s neither the most intense nor the most profound boomer shooter, but it’s certainly one of the most distinctive and captivating titles of recent years, shining more for its style, atmosphere, and writing than for its gunplay. If you’re looking for a title that combines the flavor of old-school comics with the charm of crime noir, then you can’t miss this little gem from Fumi Games.

Don't Nod is back, and they're doing it in style! Aphelion is a title we've come to appreciate for its top-notch storytelling, above-average scientific accuracy, and a thoroughly impressive technical execution. It's a game we'd recommend not only to sci-fi fans but also to anyone looking to enjoy a great adventure story—just the right length and with well-balanced difficulty. Finally, the price is the classic cherry on top of a delicious cake! It’s a shame that, unlike the developer’s other IPs, there won’t be a sequel.

Tomodachi Life: A Dream Life is a small miracle that fulfills the hopes of all of us fans who have been clamoring for the series’ return for far too many years. And finally, what once seemed like an impossible dream has come true, giving rise to a lighthearted, crazy, and utterly irresistible experience. The game manages to preserve the chaotic and unpredictable spirit that made the 3DS installment iconic, enriching it with a level of customization never seen before. At the same time, there are some questionable choices and notable omissions that prevent the title from fully achieving the status of a perfect sequel, making it, in fact, a game that is already extraordinarily fun but still has plenty of room for growth, especially in light of possible future updates.

PEPPERED stands out as one of the most thought-provoking experiences of recent times, capable of transforming simple mechanics into a distorting mirror of our fears about failure. The strength of this project lies in its ability to shake the player, forcing them to accept their choices and helping them understand the beauty behind every defeat. Despite its punishing approach, Mostly Games’ work shines with originality and coherence. In a world that pushes us toward success at all costs, PEPPERED reminds us that true victory lies in remaining human, with all our flaws.

The House of Hikmah is a promising debut that showcases the team’s passion. While it could use some refinement, the structure is solid despite its imperfections and demonstrates a certain wisdom in choosing a storyline and gameplay that suit the game’s runtime. It’s a short and simple title that deserves a chance, if only for its artistic merit—which immerses the player in a magical, dreamlike Arabian world—as well as to support a team that, if it continues on this path, could eventually produce a little gem.

We can say that BEFORE I GO stands out as one of the boldest experiences of mid-2026, even as it bears the hallmarks of an independent production that has prioritized art over pure gameplay. We are looking at a title that, while not revolutionizing the Metroidvania genre, manages to carve out a niche for itself thanks to an artistic vision that challenges the industry giants.

The Long Dark is not merely a form of entertainment; rather, it is an experience that demands immense patience—the kind needed to accept failure as an integral part of personal growth. Despite some shortcomings in both gameplay and graphics, the atmosphere amidst the ice is so powerful that it makes one overlook the technical flaws.

Pearl Abyss came very close: all it would have taken was a slightly more inspired story and some less complex gameplay mechanics, and we would have been looking at a true masterpiece. It’s an excellent game nonetheless—one we recommend even to those who aren’t fans of the genre—that immerses players in a vast open world and captivates them with a solid, dynamic combat system. You’ll be tempted to keep playing even after finishing the main quest to enjoy its world with hours of activities and pure fun. And watch out, because all the pieces are in place for the developer to expand and improve it even further.

SEGA Villains Stage is an expansion that knows where it’s going and, for the most part, gets there. It’s not the kind of DLC that redefines the core game or fills its structural gaps; rather, it’s a package built around the strength of its three main encounters—perhaps the best boss fights in the entire series.

Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is a game that promises a lot but ultimately fails to deliver on its potential, resulting in an adventure that won’t leave a lasting impression—mainly due to its weak story and character development. That said, the game isn’t all bad, as it incorporates some very creative gameplay ideas, even if these don’t quite manage to shine.

All Will Fall is an extremely promising title that is sure to win over fans of city-building games, especially thanks to its post-apocalyptic aesthetic and its unique city-building mechanics. However, the gameplay could really benefit from some refinement, particularly in terms of explaining its mechanics and managing player choices.

Replaced isn’t a game that fully lives up to its ambitions, and it would be dishonest to present it as such. Sad Cat Studios’ six-year development effort has produced a visually stunning, narratively solid, and gameplay-wise robust title, though it isn’t without a certain structural repetitiveness that gradually saps some of the initial enthusiasm. The combat works until it gets bogged down in the poorly balanced complexity of the final stages; the platforming is solid but not without its flaws; and the experience might leave you feeling exhausted after the 13 hours required to complete it. Yet, when Replaced is at its best—and it is for nearly its entire duration—it’s an experience capable of leaving a lasting impression, far beyond the limits dictated by an aesthetic legacy waiting to be embraced.

Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection is undoubtedly the definitive version of three games that, for far too long, have been unfairly overlooked by the fanbase. This collection finally restores the series to the place of esteem it deserves, thanks to a compilation crafted with evident passion and a great deal of care. We were truly amazed by Capcom’s excellent work, which not only succeeded in the far-from-simple task of adapting and modernizing titles originally released on the Nintendo DS, but also enriched the experience with a significant amount of content, improvements, and customization options that make this edition well worth it even for those who already know the games inside out.

It’s not so easy to give this expansion a definitive verdict. On the one hand, we have to admit that the quality of the new content is undoubtedly excellent, further enriching what remains one of the best 2D platformers ever made; on the other hand, it’s impossible not to think that it could have been handled and integrated much better. Everyone to Bellabel Park remains, however, a highly recommended addition for anyone who loved Super Mario Bros. Wonder: it isn’t the definitive expansion it could have been, but it’s still a return to the Flower Kingdom that’s absolutely worth experiencing.

Boiling Point is an expansion that does exactly what you’d expect from Ready or Not at its best: a limited number of missions, but crafted with such care and intensity that they more than justify the price tag. The three missions are the most inspired and best-designed VOID Interactive has ever offered, with level design that raises the bar for the entire genre and an atmosphere capable of unsettling even the most seasoned veterans. The narrative framework that ties them together, while remaining deliberately implicit, gives the package a cohesion and psychological impact that previous DLCs lacked. The flaws of the base game are almost all present and largely unchanged, but those who already enjoyed the original title will find in this DLC the best that Ready or Not has to offer.

Project Songbird is a work that isn’t afraid to reveal its own uncertainties in order to establish a dialogue with the player. Dakota’s descent into a forest that is only seemingly safe becomes a parable about the difficulty of staying true to oneself when the world demands conformity. Despite some technical shortcomings, the overall impression remains positive thanks to the great attention to atmosphere and sound design. It is an adventure that does not merely aim to scare, but invites reflection, suggesting that true darkness does not lurk in the woods, but rather in the constant doubt that one is not good enough to pursue one’s dreams.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, in its PC version, represents the definitive edition of a work that divides and captivates with equal intensity. Nixxes has delivered a port that doesn’t merely translate a console exclusive to another platform, but amplifies its qualities by leveraging every advantage offered by current hardware and technologies. Kojima, for his part, has crafted a sequel that improves upon the vast majority of its predecessor’s aspects without betraying its spirit. The storytelling is more focused, the gameplay is more varied, and the art direction reaches generational heights. Nevertheless, the core loop has its moments of tedium, the writing doesn’t shy away from its excesses, and those who didn’t embrace the philosophy of the first game won’t find enough reason here to reconsider it. For everyone else—for those who found something deeply personal in that first journey through a devastated America—this version is the best way to return to the beach.

Eko Software's new project is an action RPG that aims to carve out a niche for itself among the giants of the genre through the strength of its ideas. Unfortunately, however, its excellent systemic design and superb soundtrack are ultimately undermined by a technically and structurally flawed execution. Combat mechanics that become repetitive over time, sloppy balancing, and a clunky user interface prevent it from making the leap to the next level. It’s a title recommended for die-hard fans of the genre looking for a complex build-crafting system, but it’s bound to frustrate those seeking a smooth, modern, and polished experience.

All things considered, Legacy of Kain: Ascendance is a repetitive and derivative game in which the few interesting plot and gameplay elements are borrowed from titles that handled them infinitely better. We can’t recommend this title to longtime fans of the series precisely because of the various narrative retcons, but we can suggest it to die-hard fans of platformers or the very first Castlevania games. We had high hopes for this return, and while Ascendance really isn’t what we expected, we still hope to revisit the gloomy realms of Nosgoth sooner or later.

Grime II revamps the thematic, conceptual, and narrative foundations of the first game in grand style, infusing that world with a fresh dose of flair and thematic charm, while still brimming with expressive potential. From a gameplay perspective as well, the game introduces a whole host of new mechanics that shake up the gameplay landscape, making it infinitely more intriguing, dynamic, and full of possibilities than before. Unfortunately, however, Clover Bite has stumbled upon some development hiccups: in addition to a certain underlying clunkiness and graphics that aren’t exceptional
