That said, the game unfortunately feels more like a DLC patch than a sequel title. And in spite of that feeling, they really didn’t improve any of the things that one might have complained about in the original game. Its release also kills off the community for the original game, so if you are a hardcore veteran of the original, it feels even more like you have to pay full price for a patch just to be able to play again, and a patch that doesn’t give you everything you wanted at that.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 had a leg up from the start of the project. It’s simple: Puyo Puyo Tetris was already very fun. What do you add? What do you change? There are things that can go wrong along the way, but ultimately there’s still Puyo Puyo Tetris in there.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is a high quality game. With its diversity of options, the game offers many hours of fun and can be enjoyed by both beginners and veterans. Even with the mistakes made in the Skill Battles, it is an excellent choice for anyone who wants a new game from the classic puzzle series.

GOOD - Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is a fun puzzle game that I can heartily recommend to newcomers as it features bright and colorful graphics, happy music, and a plethora of game modes to enjoy. However, it does very little to improve upon the original game, which can now be purchased for half the price of this one, which gives owners of Puyo Puyo Tetris very little incentive to plop down another $40 for such a similar experience.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 repeats the formula with a package full of variety and fun for fans of Tetris, Puyo Puyo or both. The game is a definitive version of the crossover of these two universes — sadly, there's not relevant new content. In the end, it is an addictive dose highly recommended for, mainly, those who haven't played the first one.

Tetris and Puyo Puyo are alive more than ever. Sonic Team hadn't had enough with Puyo Puyo Tetris back in 2014, so they take this daring concept to create a new game, airing 8 of december and available for all gaming platforms nowadays.

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is clearly an upgrade over its predecessor. Newcomers have a lot to chew on as veterans, not so much. By taking what was great about the first game and adding fun, new additions such as Skill Battle mode, Sega made a puzzle game sequel well worth playing. Game clear!
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is one of the puzzle games with the most content of the generation, with a multitude of game modes and configurations to adapt the experience to our liking. The story mode and the battle of feats take center stage in this installment, being very durable and addictive modes. An essential without a doubt.

It doesn’t reinvent any of its base parts, but the additions it does make and the touched up presentation, combined with just how perfect a mix it was back in 2017 (and even further back in 2014) makes this a must have game for puzzle fans.
Is Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 more of the same? Yes, and no matter how much I sing its praises, there’ll be those grumbling away at what’s admittedly little more than a reskin. Yet while points might be docked off for a lack of originality, I’m compelled to ask: why fix what ain’t broke? Timeless and engaging in its approachable genius, the puzzle game of the generation remains unmatched in its pliable depth.

The game doesn’t deviate too much from its predecessor, but the campaign and Skill Battle mode provides hours of unique Puyo Puyo and Tetris enjoyment.
