Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is a fun game that offers up more gameplay options than narrative depth. The competitive mode is the highlight of the release and gives you plenty of reasons to keep playing this sequel.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is a brilliantly fun and addictive experience that all fans will quickly sink hours in. The game doesn’t deviate too much from its predecessor, but the campaign and Skill Battle mode provides hours of unique Puyo Puyo and Tetris enjoyment. Only hardcore fans may notice the updated systems, but this is still a very accessible competitive puzzle game for all fans of the genre.
Is Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 more of the same? Yes, and no matter how much I sing its praises, there’ll be those grumbling away at what’s admittedly little more than a reskin. Yet while points might be docked off for a lack of originality, I’m compelled to ask: why fix what ain’t broke? Timeless and engaging in its approachable genius, the puzzle game of the generation remains unmatched in its pliable depth.
Puyo Puyo 2 could never have hoped to have the same impact as the first game did, but it remains a brilliant puzzle title nevertheless. While some may feel it's not quite different enough from its predecessor, the new single-player story is just as entertaining as the last one, and the Skill Battle mode adds interesting mechanics to the mix. It's still absolutely packed with content; it's just that the first game was too, so the impact is lessened slightly.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is a worthy successor to the first game, expanding upon the original premise with additions like skills battles but retaining that same addictive gameplay puzzle fans will love. Providing a fantastic multiplayer experience both online and locally, fans will find plenty to keep them occupied. It isn't entirely flawless and the lack of changes with bonus content feels a little too safe but it's a minor criticism in the grand scheme of things. SEGA has done an excellent job here and it comes highly recommended.
Just like the first game, Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is a joy to play. Whether you love just Puyo Puyo, or Tetris, or both, you’ll find something to enjoy here. Beautifully presented with over-the-top characters, larger-than-life animations and a bright and bold colour palette, it’s a game that’s impossible to play without a silly smile on your face. Apart from when you’re losing, that is. But you’ll always pick yourself up and play again – it’s too infectious not to.
While Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 doesn't quite fix the original game's difficulty spikes, and rarely steps outside its comfort zone, it does make enough improvements to its formula to make it a successful sequel. It may not be the fresh and inventive breakout puzzle hit its predecessor was, but it's still undoubtedly a cracking blend of two fantastic puzzle games.
It doesn’t reinvent any of its base parts, but the additions it does make and the touched up presentation, combined with just how perfect a mix it was back in 2017 (and even further back in 2014) makes this a must have game for puzzle fans.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 isn't the game-changer that the first Puyo Puyo Tetris was.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is one of the puzzle games with the most content of the generation, with a multitude of game modes and configurations to adapt the experience to our liking. The story mode and the battle of feats take center stage in this installment, being very durable and addictive modes. An essential without a doubt.

There may not be a whopping amount of new content besides the introduction of the JRPG-like Skill Battles, but Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 refines the overall formula and offers players another great puzzle game that is even more accessible than before.
What this sequel does is keep what worked so well about the original while adding to or refining everything else. Clear, expansive tutorials make it more approachable, a variety of online Puzzle Leagues make the depth of online play stronger, and the new Skill Battle mode adds a smart twist to the gameplay. This is a vibrant and enjoyable puzzle game that is packed with content and variety.
Tetris and Puyo fans will find plenty to enjoy again, with the few new modes it introduces broadly impressing
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 takes the great concept seen in the first game and makes it even better with the addition of the "Skill Battle" mode which adds a touch of RPG to the gameplay. Gamers who can do without this new mode can keep playing the first Puyo Puyo Tetris. People who enjoy Puzzle Games and didn't play the first game shouldn't sleep on Puyo Puyo Tetris 2.

Not needing to reinvent the wheel, Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 delivers the same fun and brilliant mash-up of two of the best drop-puzzle games ever with a healthy dollop of content, both classic and new. The jury's still out on whether the new Skill Battles will change things up, but regardless, this is a great puzzle package for parties or pros, and hopefully a great jumping off point for newcomers to discover the marvel and skill of competitive puzzle battles.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 might be a hard sell if you already own the first game and aren't a die-hard fanatic. This release doesn't change up the entire formula but instead improves on nearly every aspect of the previous title with more characters, more modes, and a delightful new story mode. There are minor missteps like the half-baked Skill Battle mode, but the amount of addictive content on offer is still extremely impressive. If you never picked up Puyo Puyo Tetris, though, you owe it to yourself to grab this one.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is clearly an upgrade over its predecessor. Newcomers have a lot to chew on as veterans, not so much. By taking what was great about the first game and adding fun, new additions such as Skill Battle mode, Sega made a puzzle game sequel well worth playing. Game clear!
Tetris and Puyo Puyo are alive more than ever. Sonic Team hadn't had enough with Puyo Puyo Tetris back in 2014, so they take this daring concept to create a new game, airing 8 of december and available for all gaming platforms nowadays.

A gorgeous package with lots of game modes and contents. The new single player campaign is a good addition to an already excellent game, yet where Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 really shines is in its multiplayer department.
