This collection is a great proof of why the Mario series is so popular and it also shoes where it might go in the future.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is a very interesting product that combines two very different souls from each other, the first one with a more classic structure of the old Mario’s games that is still winning and enjoyable in all its well-characterized levels, the second one with a more innovative and modern soul that takes its cue from the recent Odysseytrying to experiment by embracing the open world component but maintaining the engine and content base of the accompanying game and keeping faith with the collectathon creed. All this can be also played both alone and with friends locally or online, taking the cooperative platform to new heights of fun.

All in all, the new release of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is a great package. One of the most fun Mario-editions in recent history packed in with a helping of new treats, it has something for everyone.

Super Mario 3D World and Bowser’s Fury are two faces of the same coin, two adventures opposite in structure yet connected by their primary goal: providing players with the purest and most polished fun. If you have not experienced it on Wii U, this is an obligatory game; if you played it before, the great adjustments made to the original game and the inclusion of the stellar Bowser Fury may be enough to convince you to revisit one of the greatest Nintendo games in the last decade.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is a must-own package for Switch owners, with each of the games included offering fantastic platforming experiences that players simply won’t want to miss out on. I absolutely adored playing through Super Mario 3D World, whilst Bowser’s Fury brings something unique to the fray that sees Mario face a whole new type of challenge… a Kaiju-like (and very, very angry) Bowser. There’s a ton of variety to be found across both games too, whilst the brilliant multiplayer of Super Mario 3D World will always keep players coming back for more even after they’ve found every collectible. It’s THAT good. There are some imperfections here and there, especially with the performance of Bowser’s Fury when playing handheld, but they don’t stop Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury from being another stand-out release in the Nintendo Switch library.

The entire Super Mario World 3D + Bowser’s Fury package is basically a remastered seven-year-old title and a wholly new expansion that truly shines thanks to its disparity from the main entries. It is a particularly fun experience perfect for anyone who might be a fan of the red plumber and who missed the original release on Wii-U. The overall experience, as enjoyable as it is, relies heavily on how much players are willing to replay the older game, with nothing more than a promise of around eight hours of new content. While the same sentiment is true for previous Mario 35th releases, those were much more immediate recommendations due to them being Nintendo Limited Releases. The fact that Super Mario World 3D + Bowser’s Fury is a permanent release means fans can hold off as long as they want before diving in. Therefore, the overall experience is quite good; and does a wonderful job of mixing nostalgia for an older title with some newer gameplay ideas.

To anyone who has ever played a Mario game, be it alone or with friends. I encourage you to pick this one up. It is truly wonderful and I guarantee you will be transported back into a state of childlike glee. I haven’t laughed this hard whilst playing a game with my friends for a very long time. It is definitely the pick me up everyone deserves.

3D World might be the more complete package here, but it’s Bowser’s Fury that’s setting a new bar for this type of Mario game and potentially games as a whole when it comes to structure. Nintendo’s sure to pull from this experimental standalone going forward, and seeing the series evolve in real time reiterates just how storied and necessary Super Mario is. Put less broadly, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is a game you need to get your paws on.

Super Mario 3D World is about as close to perfect as you can get with a Mario game, and the fact that it features online multiplayer makes it even better, but what really makes the package worth the $60 is the fact that you have one of the best Mario titles with a new game thrown in.

Even though Super Mario 3D World’s remastered could have added more contents to the game, Bowser’s fury alone is enough to justify the full price for Nintendo. One of the best and more refreshing experiences the platform 3D genre offered in the last years.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is an easy suggestion. It contains the best version of a great game and a highly demanding and enjoyable new 'sub-chapter' for the series.

Super Mario 3D World was a brilliant platformer in 2013 and it still holds up very well in 2021. Count in the new online multiplayer and the story addition Bowser's Fury, and you've got a very worthwhile title in front of you.

Super Mario 3D World already was a great game worth buying, but with the online coop and Bowser's Fury, it justifies another purchase on the Switch. The game looks and feels great, even with four players. It also brings a bit of a challenge for anyone trying to find all secrets but stays accessible for kids who just want to play. Bowser's Fury on the other hand feels a bit short and lacks a worthy coop. Still, this content is great to play, but don't expect a full adventure.

While Bowser’s Fury is an impressive addition to 3D World, it will barely clock in any more than 6 hours of playthrough which in this reviewers opinion, really doesn’t justify double-dipping. I wouldn’t say 3D World is an inferior Mario title but it is absolutely standing in the shadows of its bigger bros.

By itself, 3D World is a game absolutely crucial for any Super Mario fan, and having it on such an appealing platform as the Switch is hard evidence that the hardware does matter. With Bowser’s Fury and little updates like online play, it makes this the definitive way to play one of Nintendo’s biggest and best individual platformers.

3D World is Nintendo EAD at its imaginative, brilliant best and remains a platforming triumph. Bowser's Fury, while not nearly as inventive, offers hours of additional challenges and a welcome excuse to revisit a classic.
