Clan O'Conall is a gorgeous character switching adventure, with a perfect balance between puzzles and combat.

It’s fun, it’s bright, it’s beautiful, it doesn’t take itself too seriously and its constantly changing mechanics keep it from being repetitive. It’s easy to see this game as superficial due to its graphics and light-hearted humour. However, so many of the characters, bosses and environments have been painstakingly researched to make sure it connects with Celtic mythology.

Clan O'Conall and the Crown of the Stag is a fine title. It isn't a very long experience, and it doesn't feature multiple difficulties, but the balance between combat and puzzle-solving is well done, and it helps that both elements are quite good on their own. If you don't mind the lack of multiplayer and you wanted an experience like the classic Trine offerings, give this one a spin.

Clan O'Conall and the Crown of the Stag is a very solid, Celtic-flavoured, action-plaform/puzzler that could be so much more with a little more effort. Everything, from the platforming, puzzle-solving, and fighting, to the three unique heroes that players will have to constantly swap between are very good, but the experience leans a bit too much towards casual-friendly territory. Not a piece of cake, but solutions to each and every problem are way too obvious, and as a result the whole adventure soon loses its immersion factor. A good game, sure, just not a strong recommendation.

Clan O’Conall and the Crown of the Stag is one of the best games I have played this year. On the surface, it gives the impression of a typical action platformer. But with its unique Celtic design, tight controls, memorable soundtrack and awesome characters this is a game that just gets everything right. Clan O’Conall was a wonderful experience that I hope as many people as possible get to enjoy. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to buy a book on Celtic folklore and listen to absurd amounts of Celtic violin music. For now, the game is only available on PC but let’s hope it finds its way to other systems very soon.

I was expecting to get a fun yet mediocre game that would be an enjoyable way to pass the time for a coupe of hours. However, what I got was a charming, addicting, tightly controlled experience with some lovable characters in a fantastic setting. It’s not the most punishing puzzle/platformer out there, so veterans and more casual gamers alike can enjoy themselves in this Celtic adventure.

Three characters with their own abilities to handle alternately, skill, platforms, action, adventure HIBERNIA! Clan O'Conall is fun, it's pretty, and it's 8-10 hours enjoyable. Nice work in classic 2D for an adventure of reflexes and calculation. And from pummeling undesirables who want our kingdom too.

Clan O'Conall and the Crown of the Stag is a platforming fan's dream and doesn't attempt to be more than it is.

The playable characters in Clan O'Connell and the Crown of the Stag are individually unique and the players must have some reflexes that support the knowledge of what each character is capable of. Although the entire run may feel a bit short, you would give yourself some credit for being able to complete the game with a balanced use of all the playable casts played while switching them in real time. You may feel that there is a lack of ‘new game plus’ or extra content after clearing it for the first time.
