Ragnarock is an incredibly fun rhythm game filled to the brim with catchy Celtic inspired music. While a bit bare-bones with no story or progression modes to speak of, Ragnarock still works as a party game and is sure to become a go-to when you have a few moments to spare or when you want to have a blast with your friends.

Ragnarock is a wonderful rhythm game from WanadevStudio that does enough to separate it from its Beat Saber brethren. The Viking backdrop and drum-beating fun make it unique in its music-driven rhythm gameplay, as does the variety of music included. The difficulty jumps from easy to hard is a steep climb that may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Ragnarock is a great time worthy of shouting to Valhalla about and one that any fan of rock/metal music will enjoy.

It's a shame the DLC isn't packed in. Especially as it has The Offspring in here, but hopefully it will arrive in due time. For now, Ragnarock is a really good drumming game with a neat twist.

Ragnarock is a rough-around-the-edges rhythm game that's super fun to begin with, but the appeal may start to wane after a handful of sessions.

It’s all a bit trippy, intense in gameplay, musically brilliant and highly enjoyable. This is exactly what VR is there for.

Thanks to its fun art direction, killer setlist, and convincing likeness of hitting drums, Ragnarock easily stands as a must-have experience for the PSVR2. (Review Policy)

Ragnarock is an excellent rhythm game that will resonate with metalheads. The tracklist and theme are lovingly interwoven which helps add to the immersion. While it lacks modes and could use a bit of polish, the core experience is addictive and makes you feel like a Norse rock god!

With Nuclear Blast RAID, Ragnarock welcomes 9 new metal tracks that will delight fans of the genre. The formula is still as effective as ever. Of course, we would have liked to have even more, or even enjoy a new setting, but it's always good to take, this time with folk metal and pagan metal that take us in their sustained rhythm. The drakkar, which sports a bow head in the shape of momentum, as the new hammers are, as usual, successful, with a radioactive green reminiscent of the logo of the music label associated with the title.

Virtual Reality and rhythm games are a dime a dozen. There are VR staples like Beat Saber, Synth Riders, Pistol Whip, and now Ragnarock joins the ranks. In Ragnarock you are a captain of a Viking ship tasked with beating drums as runes stream towards you. The runes stream down four paths from left to right. Hitting the runes in time results in a power meter going up. Viking knots on the side of your hammers light up with each successful hit. When you hit your stride and combo enough runes together you can activate a powerful point multiplier.

It wouldn’t be unfair to summarize Ragnarock by saying it is Beat Saber with a Viking theme. And it is undoubtedly another solid VR workout game that will have you burning boatloads of calories, but having so much fun you won’t notice how sweaty you are. But Ragnarock lacks some of the elements that make Beat Saber great; there isn’t enough variation in the rhythmic actions you do to the music, and the playlist of songs is a bit paltry (although the devs have said they will be adding to it). Combine that with mediocre visuals and Ragnarock is a decent game and fun way to get a great workout, but one whose repetition might make you want to hang up your helmet after a while. Pick this one up if you’re a fan of Norse themes, you’re looking to take a break from Beat Saber … or you just want to rock.

Ragnarock is a near-flawless game and a phenomenal experience. If you’re looking for a Beat Saber killer, this is it. It’s clear that so much love went into creating Ragnarock, and you can feel the developer’s dedication with every single beat. If you’re a fan of rhythm games and are looking for something to blow the others out of the water, you’re obligated to pick up Ragnarock. For the power! For the glory! For the horde!

Ragnaröck is a fantastic new addition to the rhythm action genre and is one of the most enjoyable games to hit VR. It's a perfect blend of aesthetic and mechanics and offers some incredibly satisfying gameplay. While its tracklist may not be to everybody's taste, the ease of adding custom songs and the sheer bloody fun of the core game makes it a must-buy.

For the cost of only $24.99, this is a title that I can easily recommend and would so at even double this price. Don’t believe me? All you have to do is take a look at the Steam user reviews which was sitting at 96% with over 1100 reviews as of the writing of this. If you are someone who enjoys a good rhythm game, or are looking to get your heart rate up, this is a title you should certainly check out.
