The on-court experience created by NBA 2K22 continues to be unparalleled, delivering a basketball simulator ever closer to reality. There is a lot to enjoy in the various game modes present, but unfortunately, the game is quite hampered by the excess of microtransactions and the bad decisions of MyCareer that leave any player worried about what the future holds.

While NBA 2K22 has made positive changes in terms of gameplay that may have simplified the game in some respects, other changes such as more natural defense in the game have made it easier to see a more balanced gameplay. However, in-app payments and various technical problems such as long loading screens along with frame drops and bugs have made NBA 2K22 not fully able to entertain its audience.

NBA 2K22 continues to assert the series' reputation as one of the best sports sims in the business. It's an incredibly enjoyable game to play, even if the options surrounding the on-court action continue to be maddeningly inconsistent.

The shooting and dribbling are both reworked in positive ways and games are more realistic and approachable than ever. Outside of regular seasons, though, the modes you play that basketball in are trending downward in quality. Unless you're ready to live your life one pack of virtual cards at a time, there isn't much of value in MyCareer, MyGM, or MyLeague. Here's hoping NBA 2K23 takes the refined gameplay and brings about more exciting variation in the modes.

NBA 2K22 is not very different compared to previous instalments in the series. However The game still delivers one of the best sports game experience of new generation courtesy of Improved graphics. That being said, The amount of In app purchases and microtransactions is Unacceptable for a game which already costs $70

Still the best Basketball simulation game on the market, NBA 2K22 does good but not enough to break into the 9th generation of gaming hardwares as the PS5 version of the game is only superior to its PS4 counterpart in terms of visuals, and the RPG-like My Career mode and heavy reliance on microtransactions keep dragging it down.

NBA 2K22 exceeds what was achieved in the previous year, and although it does not represent a radical change for the franchise, it has everything necessary to satisfy NBA fans. For better and for worse, the game has everything players love about NBA 2K, but also everything they hate.

It is amazing how a publisher can make a game with content and game modes this enticing then bury all it under a pile of microtransaction rubble. This franchise deserves better yet despite everything, NBA 2K22 is a rich and enjoyable game you can play for a long long time...

‎NBA 2K22 improves on playable and makes it more challenging when attacking, but makes defending more fun and fair. The additions in The My Career mode are surprising at first, but then they end up getting heavy.‎

NBA 2K22 is generally a beautiful representation of next-generation console hoops, but it's a little disturbing that many of the newest things I noticed didn't have a whole lot to do with basketball. The on-court product is good, but it's not perfect. Basketball is still my favorite sport to watch, and I love the game, so I'll keep playing, but I can probably put the music and fashion career on hold - and I don't need to spend any more money.

NBA 2K22 is a surprisingly solid perennial release, refining and improving upon troublesome and dull mechanics with a generally more fun, accessible court experience. While its RPG ambitions are admirable, its quest system pales in comparison to the next-gen version. Overall, though, this current-gen version stands firmly on its own, offering a solid suite of modes and sweet basketball simulation.

So at the end of the day, NBA 2K22 feels like it comes with two separate modes: offline for those who just want to have fun and aren’t necessarily NBA superstars and multiplayer for people willing to spend real money and get their high-rated players overnight.

NBA 2K22 offers the best on-court experience in the history of the series. That’s no small thing for a franchise long known for rock-solid gameplay. The problem is that so much around that experience feels incomplete or messy. NBA 2K22 provides such a wide range of experiences that many players will get what they need from it. The overall package, however, is a lot more uneven.

At this point, I don’t even know what else to say. NBA 2K22 is gorgeous and plays better than its predecessors. Visual Concepts does improve upon its predecessors with each new installment, but the cringeworthy story mode, obscene usage of product placement, and the abusive microtransactions are just too much to handle.

If you are looking for the best version of NBA 2K22, the eighth generation release is probably not the best place to look because it lacks any truly new features compared to the last year's outing and a yearly franchise with not many new ideas is always a disappointing product that you have think twice about buying.

While there isn’t enough new content in NBA 2K22 to justify a full-priced upgrade, its online component is a marked improvement over its predecessor.

The new shooting mechanism along with the changes in the alley-hoop and the dunks, the improved setting in the defense and the attack and the rest of the changes in the gameplay, give a better basketball experience.

NBA 2K22 offers a more immersive career mode with a system of quests and objectives, but which is unfortunately poorly exploited with numerous and long loading times in addition to display problems related to the online aspect of the title. The new generation experience is long overdue despite a successful atmosphere during matches while microtransactions spoil clashes against other players.
