While some off-track quirks diminish the experience somewhat, Gran Turismo 7's excellent gameplay places it firmly ahead of most of the racing game genre.
Gran Turismo 7 checks all of the boxes of what would be expected from a palatable Gran Turismo game, but has some questionable design choices that weigh it down. With Gran Turismo Café leading the way, this is the most approachable GT game to newcomers, whether in the series, or of car racing in general.

GT 7 is one of the best racing games a racing enthusiast can have. I'm sure I'll be playing for a long time, but if it was a little more user-friendly, it would be a legendary game.

If you searched for synonyms to racing simulator genre, Gran Turismo 7 would surely come up first. New game plays it safe, and you get exactly what you pay for. Stunning graphics, great simulation mechanics, huge amount of car alterations and humongous number of cars themselves. There is lot to see and experience but unfortunately a lot to read too. After many races I can tell you that career is good enough, but Music Rally was my jam (pun intended).

At the end of the day, I’d argue that Gran Turismo 7 is the most accessible entry in the series so far. There are a considerable amounts of driving assist that help newcomers get acclimated with how driving works in Gran Turismo, but it’s never going to be Ridge Racer so unless you’re passionate about cars, this series still might be a little too deep for the average racing game fan.
Many will look at the microtransactions and be instantly turned off by what's on offer from Gran Turismo 7. However, if you can look past the cash grab, it is a racing game capable of generating some amazing and intense racing experiences that even fully fledged racing sims would be jealous of.
Gran Turismo 7 is probably the best racing simulation game on the market right now, something that every car fanatic needs to own. Gran Turismo 7 allows you to fine-tune everything from the motor, to the circuits, to the paint, and more. Everything can be made just the way you want it to be. Gran Turismo 7 is also the BEST looking game on the PlayStation 5… PERIOD. Everything is reflective, from the paint to the chrome on the wheel covers… It's AMAZING. If you're a racing fanatic, then this is the game for you.
All in all, Gran Turismo 7 is looking like it could be the best racing game of 2022. There are so many other superlatives you can go with for this game like it’s the best-looking PS5 game or it’s one of the best PlayStation exclusives of this generation so far, but the important thing is that the game is just straight-up fun. Despite a few stumbles here and there, the shine of Gran Turismo 7 greatly exceeds the negatives and makes it a must-have for anyone that’s looking for their next PS5 title.
Gran Turismo 7 is far from being the best racing sim out there, but it's a love letter to cars, and it shines in more ways than just pure racing. It's about collecting and highlighting the beauty of cars. A must-have for every petrolhead.

Gran Turismo 7 is a vast racing game. It might lack the instant sparkle of an arcade racing game, but it’s an experience that lasts much longer and feels more rewarding. Mastering a track with a newly tuned car feels good and well earned. Lack of true ray-tracing will disappoint some PS5 owners looking to show off their console, and the menu systems are pretty drab at times, but when racing, there’s little else quite like it.

Time will tell how fans will react to Gran Turismo 7's microtransactions, but putting them aside, what's there is still a deep racing game experience that will keep fans of the genre busy for hours on end. It's a gorgeous racing game and while it's not going to be knocking down any boundaries to convert non-racing game fans, Gran Turismo 7 should greatly appeal to its target audience.
Long story short, Gran Turismo 7 is a bit of a throwback to the genre’s early days — and includes some of the series’ old shortcomings — but when it comes to accurate driving physics and sheer, unadulterated love of cars, it’s something close to peerless.
Gran Turismo 7 combines realism and pleasure in a way that you rarely find so accurate in simulation games.
