GRID Legends Reviews
While DIRT 5 and F1 2021 remain Codemasters' best racing games to date, GRID Legends runs a very close second, with an enjoyably daft Story mode, absorbing Career, and a wealth of options to fiddle with. Driven to Glory, indeed.
The Driven to Glory campaign is the big push, but is actually only a thin layer of what this package offers overall. GRID Legends has a solid career mode, with a ton of cool activities and customization options. The content gating is a bit frustrating (be prepared to grind a bit), but overall there is a mountain of fun to be had with this rock-solid arcade racer.
GRID Legends is a wonderful racer that dials down the simulation elements of other racers, making it accessible to everyone. It features a fair amount of modes and some stunning visuals, as well as a wide range of cars to choose from.
GRID Legends places its bets in growing upon the bases that made it a racing icon. It's not perfect but adds enough innovation and content to enjoy it for quite a long time.

'GRID Legends' is a damn fun simcade racing game.
If you're searching for a balance of arcade and sim-style racing full of varied events, sublime controls and great sound design, then you're already in the right place. GRID Legends has such quality content that'll keep you coming back long after the credits roll.
But at the end of the day, it's essential to always know what to expect. GRID Legends isn't by any means supposed to be a racing sim. It's still an arcade title, and as long as you have this mind, there's absolutely no chance you'll end up disappointed.
A return to arcade, a return to the docks, a return to drifting, and a return to putting fun above all else. This is what Grid should be about, enough fun to be had with the story and career modes, but an absolute hoon with a couple of mates in multiplayer.
Codemasters has put a good amount of thought into reinventing the GRID experience.
GRID Legends absolutely nails its role as a tried and true "simcade" experience thanks to well-balanced gameplay mechanics, a healthy variety of vehicle types and track designs and just an overall fun feel. It's easily one of the most well-built racers I've played in a while.
There are times when I want to play a racing game that requires a wheel and incredibly nuanced changes to my car's setup. GRID Legends provides a counterpoint to that style, and it's a ball of fun that never feels like it loses focus on being a competitive racing game. It's a racing game that isn't afraid to become a spectacle, while at the same time managing to take itself seriously in the areas that matter. The story mode is the flashiest, but the game remains just as compelling in any other mode. GRID Legends is a great excuse to have some automotive fun.
Since 2008 the GRID series tried different formulas and in 2022 it ain't the exception, presenting a new dramatic narrative career and racing away from the more sim styled gameplay.

From the moment I fired up Grid Legends, I was impressed with the improvements and additions across the board. If you're a racing fan, an adrenaline junkie, or somewhere in between, Grid Legends should be given the chance to impress you.
Super-slick, arcade-leaning racing from Codemasters, now with better handling and a live-action story mode to enjoy. Instantly enjoyable online and off.
It’s a strong, tarmac-based counterpart to the Dirt series, and satisfies a wider range of competitive urges than the dedicated F1 simulation that launches every year. And the consistently exciting racing, as both spectator and competitor, that Grid Legends delivers should have every racing fan wondering why something like this can’t be found in real life, too.
I would say that Codemasters ends up capitalizing on Grid and reshaping that same game that worked as a fresh start. Grid Legends could well operate as an expansion that would not result in a big shock wave, even if it is a game with a lot of content and so end up justifying its autonomy and prominence in the legacy of the series. Legacy that once again softens in the arcade format, in which the races are more spectacular, played at the foot, wheel the wheel, and the seriousness of the simulation is destitute and thrown back, either in history mode or through the traditional career mode.

A new and likeable story mode caps a decent if not dazzling celebration of 25 years of Codies' racing series.
