GRID Legends Reviews
To Codemasters’ credit, it is the full version of GRID Legends, but now available in VR. It’s not a simple “VR experience” either: there’s a truckload of content in this game, making it one of the beefiest titles available on the Quest 2. However, the horrendous visuals, disappointing controls, and lack of immersion make this one a tough sell to all but the most die-hard VR enthusiasts, those who were eagerly waiting for a full-fledged racing sim on the system.
GRID Legends is a great game. GRID Legends for Meta Quest is not. I'm impressed that Codemasters managed to cram a full console racing game into a VR headset, but the compromises required to do so are too many. For racing fans waiting for a decent native Quest racer, this unfortunately isn't it.
Grid Legends is a mediocre title that offers little to nothing of interest. You'll be treated to a predictable story, a weak driving model, and outdated visuals. While it's still a decent racing game, it doesn't stand a chance against its competition.

I was ultimately disappointed, but not surprised by GRID Legends. After all, with the level of quality the last game set I couldn’t imagine this one being that much different. And while I did really really enjoy the story mode, it was very short and not the kind of thing people buy racing games for. The rest of the single-player was generic and barebones, while the multiplayer is already circling the drain.
This isn't entirely surprising, given the amount of leeway (and subsequent lack of punishment) given when entering a corner hard under brakes, or applying full throttle at the apex of said corner.
It doesn't reinvent the wheel by any stretch, but there's no denying that on the track GRID Legends is a fun time.
When it comes to motorsport, gamers are spoilt for choice. Whereas the majority of gamers gravitate to platform exclusives such as Forza Horizon 5, or the recently released Gran Turismo 7, there’s also a wealth of multi-platform titles too. One such is GRID Legends which has been developed by the racing heavyweights over at Codemasters.
GRID Legends is a good game that can keep entertaining fans of arcade circuit races for a decent number of hours. Although the story mode is not very successful.

GRID Legends does an admirable job of keeping pace with its rivals with a steady title offering all a racing fan would expect. Every aspect is done to an admirable standard from graphics, modes and handling. This is recommended for fans of the genre but also for newcomers looking for an arcade feel mixed with their realism. With the excellently cheese fest of story mode and fun integration of the nemesis system, there's something for everyone here.
There are times when I want to play a racing game that requires a wheel and incredibly nuanced changes to my car's setup. GRID Legends provides a counterpoint to that style, and it's a ball of fun that never feels like it loses focus on being a competitive racing game. It's a racing game that isn't afraid to become a spectacle, while at the same time managing to take itself seriously in the areas that matter. The story mode is the flashiest, but the game remains just as compelling in any other mode. GRID Legends is a great excuse to have some automotive fun.
Codemasters keeps trying to establish the true identity of the GRID series.

If GRID Legends will probably not mark the memories of its players, it still allows to have fun thanks to its varied races.

After many runs in Grid Legends, I can say that the game is very positive, especially thanks to its accessibility, beautiful production and the large amount of things to get and do. Don't expect a revolutionary experience, either technically or functionally, but rather a job well done and varied. If you are a fan of racing games or even an admirer of the genre, this is certainly a must-have model to have in your garage.

GRID Legends is a typical racing simulator that doesn't have what it takes to pull ahead.

GRID Legends has its moments, and I was always able to get excited for short sessions, but I was never really captivated. Overall, you can play the game and it's fun for a limited time, but at a time when you can even get Forza Horizon 5 on Xbox with Game Pass, I don't know why I should spend my money with Codemasters/EA. The racing game doesn't offer enough for that and what is shown seems "outdated".

I would say that Codemasters ends up capitalizing on Grid and reshaping that same game that worked as a fresh start. Grid Legends could well operate as an expansion that would not result in a big shock wave, even if it is a game with a lot of content and so end up justifying its autonomy and prominence in the legacy of the series. Legacy that once again softens in the arcade format, in which the races are more spectacular, played at the foot, wheel the wheel, and the seriousness of the simulation is destitute and thrown back, either in history mode or through the traditional career mode.

The new story mode brings richer single-player content to GRID Legends.

Grid Legends is a great game that was simply released at the wrong time. PlayStation owners are more likely to jump on Gran Turismo 7, and Xbox owners are most likely still satisfied with Forza Horizon 5. It is hard to slide between these two franchises and achieve much success. Still there is a trial on EA Play so give it a shot. I had a great time with it, but quickly forgot about it after a week. I do wish the game felt more like a successor as opposed to an upgrade to Grid 2019.
GRID Legends doesn't do anything particularly new or ambitious, opting to stay close to the series' strong structure and add more content compared to its predecessor. More ambition would certainly be help to draw more attention to it, but regardless, it's still an excellent racing title.

GRID Legends is a lot of fun overall. Its story mode is enjoyable pulp drama while the minute-to-minute racing is genuinely exhilarating. It may feel a little limited overall for those who want a deep racing experience, but players who go in expecting something breezy will find plenty to love here.
