As a fantastic representation of perhaps the most underrated series in platformer history, KLONOA Phantasy Reverie Series is a must for anyone with a soft spot for lighthearted yet tricky puzzle platforming fun. I hope this means KLONOA 3 will be a thing at some point!

Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is incredibly difficult to review, because I have to admit that nostalgia is buzzing strongly in the back of my mind. However, returning to these old classics was an absolute joy, and I feel that the adventures have aged remarkably well. I'm simply happy that Klonoa can finally be played easily on modern hardware. At the same time, the collection doesn’t offer anything new content-wise, nor does it particularly try to win over new fans, as the market is full of more feature-rich platformers. However, what it lacks in modern features, it makes up for in personality. That’s why I encourage especially the platformer fans to give Klonoa a shot, at the very least on discount. You might even be pleasantly surprised!

Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is a collection of two remasters that we highly recommend, for the originality and freshness of the gaming proposal. Paradoxical, we know, given the very concept of a remaster, but just like in fashion where the 'old becomes new,' even Klonoa can boast of having succeeded in this. Or not?

I'll admit it, after playing Klonoa: Phantasy Reverie, my desire to roam with Namco Bandai's Dream Traveler is as strong as it was in 1998 (when the first chapter debuted). Despite the passage of time, the duo of titles marking the brand's debut has retained its stylistic and playful charm. However, being a mere re-release, the collection seems somewhat lazily produced—a well-executed but too essential task. Adding portable spin-offs might have been too much, but including some extras for both veteran players and newcomers would have added that little extra. Let's hope for good sales to remind Namco Bandai that a new Klonoa wouldn't be unwelcome in today's gaming landscape.

All in all, though, the two games are highly enjoyable. I don't know if KLONOA Phantasy Reverie Series is going to be the game that finally gives Klonoa the audience it deserves. But if there's any justice in the world, it will be.

Although it originally launched during an era when we were flooded with 3D character platformers, Klonoa does feel unique enough to stand up against many of the household names we think of when thinking about the genre, it just seems it didn’t catch on enough at the time to grow as big as Crash, Spyro or Ratchet & Clank for example. Hopefully with the release of this collection it can continue to resonate with existing fans, find some new ones and who knows it could eventually spawn a brand new entry, reviving the series with the first original new game in over 20 years. If you’re a fan of character based platformers, I’d recommend checking out the Klonoa: Phantasy Reverie Series on your platform of choice.

Having never played or even really heard much about the Klonoa series, I was pretty eager to check it out when I heard this packaged together remasters of its original two titles...

It took a while, but it's here. Klonoa makes its triumphant return in a must-have pack not only for fans of the saga but also for fans of the genre. Exciting and clinical in technicality, platforming doesn't get any purer than this.

For the most of us, the Klonoa franchise is unknown. Can you feel nostalgic for a game you've never played before? Before you played Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series, you probably didn't agree, but after a few levels of this charming remaster, which packs Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil into one game, you'll be entranced by this one. cute and endearing game. The many side paths, hidden secrets and collectibles make the games challenging, but also confusing.

We are happy that Bandai Namco gave life to the series and we hope to see more things in the near future.

Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is a dream come true for those who appreciate its value, but it lacks enough content to create a compelling purpose for someone to play through the games again.

‎The games are real Remasters: virtually nothing has changed in the gameplay or levels, but everything has been given a fresh new look that makes it look modern again. The additions in especially the infinite restart at a save point are particularly pleasant additions that can avoid many possible frustrations. Klonoa deserves a second chance and fortunately a new audience can now still get acquainted with this unique gameplay.‎

The Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is a collection that finally gives the undistinguished anthropomorphic hero's main games the treatment they deserve after so many years in limbo, punctuated only by an obscure remake of Door to Phantomile for the Wii.

Klonoa: Phantasy Reverie Series is a beautifully accomplished remaster of two long-forgotten classics. With dozens of fun levels, memorable bosses and lively characters, this is an experience that any platforming fan will get hours of fun from – as long as they don't expect the compelling gameplay to be accompanied by good stories. Whether they're newcomers or long-time fans, this Klonoa return is a dream come true, and we hope this reborn mascot has more to give in the future.

Klonoa was an iconic character for a reason. This fun platformer combined with catchy tunes and lovable characters made for some memorable experiences, and the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series lovingly brings all of it back to life for current systems. Including both of Klonoa’s classic titles, the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is the best way to experience the classic and is a triumphant return for the character. The game is very simple to pick up and play, but also offers enough variety and challenge to those looking for a test. Despite some minor complaints, you could even consider them as nitpicks, the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is a treat for fans and is the closest thing we have (for now, maybe) to a modern Klonoa experience.

Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is a decent way to enjoy these classic platformers. For as close to the landing as the collection sticks when it comes to content, the fact that there are more accessible options is something to be lauded. While I was never a particularly huge fan of Klonoa, it would be silly to dismiss this for what it is: a new, fresher, and extremely colorful way for an entirely new group of players to enjoy the dreamy antics of Klonoa and co.

Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is a collection of good, but not outstanding platformer remasters. They are charming as all hell and quite relaxing to play, but they feel dated in terms of its mechanics. Tying the reach of your attacks to the difficulty level of choosing was a totally unnecessary call, and its hit detection could have received some extra tinkering in order to feel less clunky.

A good set of remastered video games that give new generations the opportunity to meet long forgotten mascots and icons, thus giving new life to franchises we thought were dead. However, I don't feel that either of the two games in this Phantasy Reverie Series bring anything truly memorable and they remain, unfortunately, two entertaining and enjoyable adventures without more.

Even after 25 years, its fairytale-like story and easy control using only three moves and two buttons are still enjoyable. The level of difficulty of this game is enough for the beginners, also the story can appeal to anyone. However, the game is a bit too easy for core gamers and the volume is insufficient to reveal all the mysteries behind the stories.
