MultiVersus Reviews
Multiversus is what it is and doesn't pretend to be more than what it offers. It is a free-to-play title that returns after a long hiatus, with a new opportunity to enjoy these beloved stars that surround us and will present us with moments of chaos and fun.

If all you want to see is a powered-up Shaggy throwing a sandwich at Batman, then MultiVersus is already a success. . . . The foundation, while flawed, has potential, but this is only the beginning.
Despite its open beta falling by the wayside, MultiVersus had a ton of potential heading into its full launch. While the netcode, characters and gameplay feel solid, everything else needs extensive improvements.
The game itself is also incredibly fun. It presents a tight gameplay loop that's enthralling and welcoming for newcomers and refreshing for fans of the genre. Compare it to Smash all you want, but Multiversus seeks to innovate rather than imitate, and it does so with aplomb.
MultiVersus succeeds at making this crossover an epic clash, but the online needs to be improved across the board to keep players invested.
MultiVersus is a fantastic foundation for a great platform that will only grow with time. It combines a solid fighting system with an excellent starting roster of characters to offer a platforming fighter like no other. There are some kinks to be ironed out, but MultiVersus is in a prime position to hit the ground running.
MultiVersus' return is a platform fighter that, while still fun as it used to be, decided to start from scratch, removing useful features and making its life more difficult than it had to.

MultiVersus is by no means irredeemable; there’s potential here for a competent Smash-like fighter and real effort to be found in elements like the characters and stages, but this is its second shot at living up to that potential and it seems to have actually taken more steps backward than forward.
With a strong initial roster, great visual presence and focus on cooperative combat, MultiVersus carves out a distinct spot for itself in the platform brawler genre.
Despite the possibility of predatory microtransactions, MultiVersus is currently on my daily login list: the fighting is fun, the characters are varied, and it gives me something to do every day.
Multiversus is back and is stronger than what it was during the beta phase, the launch version seems promising but it lacks an obvious balancing and polishing issues

MultiVersus is one of the rare online competitive games that is fun even when you're not playing with your friends. That means you should definitely give it a chance even if your friends turn down your "let's play!" offers.

Sporadic issues and slow battle pass progression aside, MultiVersus is one of the most entertaining 2D fighting games in recent years. If it receive continuous support, MultiVersus has the Potential to become a successful live service game.

My one hesitation with MultiVersus right now is that there just aren’t any characters that I really care about. Wonder Woman is neat, yes, and I’ll always have a soft spot for Bugs Bunny and Tom and Jerry, but there just isn’t the same “magic” that Smash has in terms of the roster. I’m sure this will change over time — Warner Bros. has a vast catalogue of characters they could potentially draw from over the long term, after all — but right now Smash absolutely still has a significant lead in terms of making me excited to try different fighters.
MultiVersus is an ambitious game with a competitive focus that manages to deliver a strategic and versatile game system. The result is a fun title that is constantly growing, although its early release and intention to introduce microtransactions makes the lack of content evident.

MultiVersus is a solid Smash Bros. clone that's definitely promising, especially with its distinctly-playing characters and flexible gameplay. It may currently be slightly underwhelming in some regards but I'm looking forward to seeing how this project evolves over time.
It's definitely a title worth noting, even if you haven't tried this genre before, and it would be a good choice to start your adventure with it. However, it's worth pointing out that the game is currently searching for its own identity, despite having rights to a rich number of franchises. It's good to use proven solutions, but there's a sense that it lacks its own ideas and originality. I had fun with it, and you will too, even if the game won't stay on your devices for long.

While the live-service model might be one of its biggest negatives, MultiVersus is still a great fighting game that has the potential to be the greatest crossover platform fighting title.
