Splatoon 3 lives up to its hype, although I was disappointed by the boss fights in the campaign. These were crisper and more challenging in the predecessors. Nevertheless, the color shooter is a really good video game. There is a lot to discover, not too much backtracking and actually everything that gamers have wished for. "Love it or leave it, there's nothing in between" describes Bayonetta very aptly for me. Newcomers should have completed the first two parts beforehand or at least watched a summary on YouTube. Otherwise, the mood will certainly not really come up, because you will not understand the relationship of the characters. However, if you don't care about that and want great-looking action, you can jump right into Bayonetta 3 and have a lot of fun. The fights are fast and look great. The story is okay, but actually seemed a bit beside the point. The "multiverse" theme should hardly be a surprise for anyone in the video game scene, but it offers Bayonetta a lot of freedom and even great locations for carnage. Except for the performance and slight problems with the camera, which cost me a healing potion in some places, Bayonetta 3 is a successful title and a worthy successor to a game series that has thrilled fans for years. In addition, the video game is suitable for both beginners and veterans, which makes it even more attractive.

Bayonetta 3 is an action-packed romp filled with the insanity and sassiness you'd expect from these titles and PlatinumGames. The ending will rub many of you the wrong way, but everything up to that point is very much worth it.

Bayonetta 3 vastly expands its scope and has the biggest enemies and set pieces in the franchise to date, but in the midst of the bombastic action - along with some dubious gameplay and narrative choices - it loses a bit of its soul.

Though it has great action and exhilarating set pieces, Bayonetta 3 ultimately feels like a subpar port of a great action game.

Bayonetta 3 is the best and the worst in the series at the same time. I feel that it manages to reach the highest points of the series yet, but is also paired with some of the lowest. The over-the-top cutscenes and combat have never been better and the gameplay is truly diverse throughout. Unfortunately, the performance, the weak story, and some horrid open-level design really harm the product from what initially on paper could have been the definitive Bayonetta experience. Bayonetta 3 for better or worse is a culmination of everything Platinum has created up to this point. Even on its darkest day, Bayonetta 3 is still a must-play for not only fans of the series but fans of the genre.

Bayonetta 3 is a case study of why a game that swings big and misses is often more worthy of your time than a 10/10 game that plays it safe. I just wish it could have stuck the landing story-wise.

Bayonetta 3 is a stylized three-dimensional beat-em-up featuring the popular character Bayonetta. Despite being the third entry in this beloved series, this is my first encounter with the franchise, so I was both excited and curious to see what the hype was all about. Did the game justify itself to me? Find out in this Rapid Review.

There’s a lot more to Bayonetta 3 than there was to the series’ prior titles. A lot of it works really well, offering a game that’s far larger in scale while still nailing the core action the series is known for. While the lack of focus may stop it from being quite as strong a total package as its predecessor, the high points here are as good as the series has ever been.

Bayonetta3 broke anew its own action that had already peaked by previous titles. While refining the existing combat system, the game also tried to expand by adding new elements. The addition of a new element can be felt awkward, but they all fit together as if they were there all along. However, it is hard to believe that this is the title to closes the original saga, especially where it shows the most clumsy story in the entire series.

Bayonetta 3 is yet another brilliant entry in the series that recaptures the magic of its predecessors while charting new ground for the series’ future. Everything you could want from a sequel is here in spades. If you’re a fan of Bayonetta or just action games in general, a stylish feast awaits.

As ridiculous and as unruly as it's ever been, the five year wait for Bayonetta's third outing ends on a predominantly satisfying high.

Bayonetta 3 is a delicious sequel to the action-packed franchise we all know and love. While it doesn't re-invent the wheel, this witch shows she still has a lot more to offer.

Bayonetta 3 is a generational title, and easily the best of the series. It's originality, execution, and overall fun factor make this a must-buy for Switch owners. Bayonetta fans old and new will adore this masterpiece.

The only real objective problem this time around is that Queen Bay may be a little too much woman for the Switch. We’ve forgiven Nintendo’s little system that could for being underpowered compared to even the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for years now, but Bayonetta 3 running into such frequent stretches of slowdown, visual muddiness, and low-fidelity textures feels like Platinum Games hitting the outer limits of how conceptually complex a game can be on the system without sacrificing something big. And make no mistake, this is a game where entire cities are ripped from the ground and twisted into metropolitan Twizzlers in the first three hours. Even with the stakes being what they are, this is still a massive game, brimming with spectacle, begging for the horsepower to run free that the Switch is incapable of providing.

Bayonetta 3 marks the return of the titular Witch in an extremely good action game that despite some not as good elements and lack of focus at times, revitalizes and improves one of the best combat systems in gaming.

Full of sensuality and with the best hack and slash action around, Bayonetta 3 is easily the best in the trilogy. It's a celebration that pushes the power of Nintendo's console to the limit.

Bayonetta 3 has a lot of issues, especially in terms of story, but is well worth playing for the core combat. While the game seems to be doing its best to get you away from that, once you're fighting, there's nothing like it out there.

The two-headed monster of the multiverse ending sequences and the pacing issues caused by taking action out of Bayonetta’s hands diminish what should be the triumphant, near-perfect finale that Bayonetta deserves. I enjoyed Bayonetta 3 far more after beating it, exploring chapters at my leisure, and avoiding all the sequences that take her out of the equation. Bayonetta 3 is a great action game, worthy of experience for anybody who is into the genre. It’s just not the flawless action experience it could have been.

Although Bayonetta 3 sequel baits itself in its after-credits, its ill-advised twists have truly sapped my enthusiasm for further adventures in this universe. If I were to revisit the Bayonetta franchise again, I’d most likely opt to replay Bayonetta 1 or Bayonetta 2 instead of subjecting myself to Bayonetta 3’s lackluster story again.

Bayonetta 3 is, in the words of Rodin, beautiful! It’s the sequel you’ve been waiting for, with some smart experimentation, clever gameplay evolutions, and variety for days that just keeps interest levels up throughout. Not every Verse works the way Platinum hoped, and through and through, this is very much a Bayonetta game so won’t be for everyone, but for the rest of us, you’ll revel in every facet and find this one of the most stunning games to put on your Switch OLED. It feels both strange and relieving to say Bayonetta 3 is finally here and it really was worth the wait.
