Ravenlok Reviews
Ravenlok isn't a bad game but it also doesn't do anything all that well with its repetitive and undemanding gameplay and constant backtracking. If you're looking for a game to lull you to sleep, though, then it'll definitely fit the bill.
Ravenlok possesses the blueprint for a fantastic series inspired by novels and fairy tales. If Cococucumber expands on the narrative experience and strengthens the combat system in their next outing, wonderful adventures await.
Ravenlok is a game full of surprises and felt incredibly satisfying to play, tapping into a genre I actually need a whole lot more of. Its lack of real combat strategy, button mashing and frustrating camera, as well as the speed you can blaze through with no returning hook do, unfortunately, limit the game’s potential. But what’s here with story, characters, setting, and style will, ultimately, make sure you have an enjoyable time while you’re playing.
Ravenlok is a Zelda-inspired take on Alice in Wonderland with colourful characters and places to explore, thanks to its great presentation and simple but fun gameplay. It's a perfect game for any young children looking for a fun afternoon.
Ravenlok may not be particularly challenging or deep in its gameplay or narrative, but it nails the storybook atmosphere and the child-like wonder of exploring a magical world. Clearly aimed at a younger and/or less videogame-familiar audience, this game makes for a brilliant entry point into the hobby and offers a short, polished, albeit simple dive into a fairy-tale come to life.

For young players without any action RPG experience, Ravenlok could certainly serve as an introduction to the genre. The controls are simple and the environments are beautiful. The main character and narrative are straightforward and relatable. Experienced gamers might be put off by the intentional lack of depth in combat and movement, but even for them, this short game might be worth playing just for the art and imaginative characters and world.
Ravenlok is a complete mess. combat becomes repetitive, story is incredibly disappointing and quest design is terrible. The only good thing about this game is its art design and if we put it aside, there is no reason for you to experience Ravenlok.

Ravenlok is a mesmerizing short adventure that takes us to a world inspired by Alice in Wonderland. The game is more appropriate for youngsters who won't bother with its lack of challenge and variety.

Ravenlok is a charming, cute and visually impressive little adventure that welcomes all types of players.
In short Ravenlok could have been an interesting product thanks to its graphical style, it completely patches however in some too important details for an action game such as combat, difficulty and duration. Therefore, we do not recommend buying the title at full price, however, it may be interesting to try it out thanks to Xbox Game Pass or buy it with some steep discounts

Ravenlok won’t be to everyone’s liking, but it’s a thoroughly enjoyable experience when you’re looking for a palette cleanser in between so many of the other AAA RPGs in the market right now. Sometimes it’s nice to get away from a massive hundred hour epic adventure, and have a short jaunt with something fun and whimsical. Hardcore gamers will likely find its shallow gameplay lacking, but it’s the perfect game to introduce younger children to for their first fantasy adventure. Ravenlok won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I was happy to partake in this tea party.
At this point, we have in our hands a game that exudes charisma, style and a lot of passion, in Cococucumber they can boast and feel very proud of the work they have achieved. It is not easy to be an independent developer, get hundreds of proposals on the market and stand out from all of them, this is something that has been achieved.

Good graphics don't make up for the rest of the game's issues.
I said this above, but I feel like it bears repeating; Ravenlok feels like the culmination of all the work this team has done using voxel tech. It is a beautiful game, one that evokes images of various Disney/Pixer type worlds and just as vivid. Each of the worlds offer side quests and various characters to interact with that was all enjoyable. Aside from the easy combat I enjoyed my time with Ravenlok and if you are looking for a quick fantasy adventure, I can’t recommend it enough.
