Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is different from the others. It eschews the supernatural elements of the previous games in favor of a slower-paced, deeply personal story that's marred by some pacing issues. However, as usual, this entry pushes Sony's console to the max. Whether or not A Thief's End usurps Among Thieves' position as the best in the series is unclear; however, this is Drake's best tale.

Compared to the previous game, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is an almost flawless experience on the PlayStation 4. Sure, there are a few clunky control dynamics such as interacting with the environment but overall Naughty Dog should be commended for putting together such a well-made game from start to finish. It's emotional, it's powerful but more importantly, it's probably going to be the most memorable game of the series with a theme of redemption and forgiveness!

An explosive, if somewhat stretched, send off for gaming's most charismatic rogue.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will be regarded in the same light as Ocarina of Time and Grand Theft Auto III as a game that pushed the industry to new heights we've never seen before.

Uncharted 4 is not perfect, and creases in its well-worn formula still crop up from time to time. But with a welcome change in composition of its base feature set, it proves the series can still be relevant despite a few missteps.

The game offers the same mix of exploration and action that makes up every Uncharted, and while those fundamentals aren't as strong as its storytelling, no one who's enjoyed the rest of the series is going to find anything here to turn them off.

Naughty Dog has capped off its flagship series with a visually stunning, viscerally thrilling adventure, and incredibly, the studio says it will push the PS4 even harder in its next game. I can't wait to see what that looks like.

Uncharted 4 was worth all the patience. Finally, a thief, exciting, personal, story-driven, cinematic and without a doubt, will be one of the most enduring games of the eighth generation.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is an action blockbuster. Like comic books or Transformers. You can enjoy it great and it will take you down the action if you don't expect something else. But at the same time, it reminds me of the Last Crusade. Like the legendary Indy, Nate is here at its peak.

One of the best productions of the current generation unmatched in its genre. Naughty Dog again showed that it is a guarantee of the highest quality. Brick candidate for game of the year.

Breathtaking visuals, thrilling events, and a clear if moderate improvement in gameplay. Nevertheless gameplay remains its weakest point, with passable gun-play, automatic platforming, simple puzzles and shallow exploration. This might not be the leap part 2 was, but it’s a fitting finale for the series.

Though I enjoyed the first 3 Nate games, A Thief's End is definitely a way to put an end to the legend of Nathan Drake. If I had to pick one Nathan Drake game this would be the game that I would tell others to play.

Uncharted 4 confidently closes the book on the series, and goes out on a high note, without feeling the need to go over-the-top with its conclusion. The things that it does well are much bigger, and much more important than the few niggling things that it – along with its three predecessors – gets wrong. Naughty Dog has increased its powers of misdirection exponentially, advancing the series in its skillful and peerless storytelling, whilst leaving the gameplay more or less unchanged. Thankfully they have not left it untouched, and this is clearly the best – and last – of what is now an unrivaled quartet of games.

Here's the problem: I really like ice cream, but maybe a scoop or two, at most 4! Certainly not a whole carton! What I mean is when you repeat something that's good, no matter how good it may be in the end, it'll lose its charm and though all in all Uncharted 4 gives new elements in an exciting story, it loses its grip and turns the experience to something normal (compared to previous entries).

An interesting and superbly told story, with far more emphasis on character and mature themes. Redesigned gunplay makes the combat rewarding in ways it never was before, and large arenas encourage constant movement. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is visually stunning, and the best we've seen on console. Naughty Dog have produced a fine farewell to one of PlayStation's most beloved characters.

Naughty Dog spoiled us with The Last of Us. As such, it was always going to be a difficult task for Uncharted 4 to meet those standards, let alone exceed them. The unfortunate thing is that whilst it has improved on certain aspects over the previous Uncharted entries - namely stealth, a little more freedom, and a real sense of discovery in hunting down a long lost treasure - there are a few too many slip-ups with regards to plot and characters, with lacking combat and set pieces also contributing to the pitfalls. It is undeniably gorgeous to look at, and the fun is definitely there on multiple occasions, but it is missing that Uncharted charm that made the series so great in the first place.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End wraps up one of the most memorable action adventure franchises in gaming. The quality has fluctuated a bit, but this final chapter safely brings the series to a satisfying and technically impressive finish.
