Bears in Space Reviews
Funny, colourful, hard enough, full of things to do and with an inspired level design. Bears in Space is no ordinary FPS, and if you enjoyed High on Life's approach to the genre, this first effort from Broadside Games will leave you with a perpetual smile on your face.

Despite appearances, Bears In Space is an FPS that knows what it's doing. Bullet hell and platforming, weapons to upgrade and secrets to find, madness galore, infernal boss fights and gameplay deviations, there really is a bit of everything in this bizarre Australian title which may not be perfect, but where it is written that a video game necessarly have to be one to be fun?

Bears in Space has the potential to be a great game, at least for a younger audience. It's entertaining yet provides a sense of challenge. The story will hook you in and many of the activities will keep you satisfied. For a game that was developed by a small team, Bears in Space provides so much content that will entertain and keep you bear-ry busy. Despite some unfortunate glitches, exploring a vast galaxy with Maxwell and Beartana was definitely a fun adventure.
Bears in Space feels like a game that was lifted directly from the early 2000's, remastered and then released today, and I mean that in the best possible way. With the recent deluge of fantastic retro-flavoured FPS games, I think it's high time for a kitschy comedy 3D boomer (millennial?) shooter renaissance. Though I'm sure it's not for everyone, Broadside Games have delivered a delightfully ridiculous debut title and if you're a 90s gamer kid I urge you to check it out.
Bears In Space is my favourite type of game. It's well put together, doesn't take itself too seriously, and puts a lot of effort into keeping things interesting for the player. The story is often nonsensical, but it doesn't matter, the gameplay does all the heavy lifting. Its comedy might not be for everyone, but I enjoyed it for the most part. It feels like it could be something put together for Adult Swim or Comedy Central in the early noughties and there's definitely a Rick & Morty influence in there somewhere too.
Clearly an object of passion, Bears In Space is far more than a vehicle to deliver endless skits and gags. It's a more than competent shooter that has been painstakingly put together to reflect the joy felt by individuals who clearly love classic gaming, oddball entertainment and most importantly – having fun.
Bears in Space is a game that I can wholeheartedly recommend. This production, created by a handful of people, looks better and more impressive than many high-budget titles created by a whole host of people. It's a production that draws handfuls from such legendary titles as Doom Eternal, High on Life, Borderlands, Ratchet & Clank and Postal: Brain Damaged, but served in a more colorful and accessible style for whole families. It's a game filled with humor and action that everyone will have fun with.

Bears In Space is a fantastic game. With only three developers working on the game, and with so much attention to detail, there’s no wonder why it took them roughly seven years to release it, and everyone will enjoy this game. Besides the obstructed shooting angles, which I hope they can address, Bears In Space is a very polished game, and I have enjoyed my time playing.
All in all, Bears in Space is honestly an amazing game just to kick up and shoot the crap out of things, while also being entertained with its brand of humour. Think High On Life but actually solid in the gameplay department and arguably more funny!
Bears in Space is a hilarious, enjoyable title that Broadside Games should be incredibly proud of.
