Astro Bot Reviews
Slight reservations towards mechanical simplicity aside, Astro Bot's polish and relentless fusillade of charmingly creative concepts places it among the best 3D platformers in recent memory.
However as an arcade game, Astro Bot ticks all the right boxes and really challenges the medium but in a good way with its crazy mechanics, sturdy controls and next-gen experience, particularly with the DualSense Controller.
During this cosmic journey, I believe you'll rediscover, just like I did, the purest and most joyful moments of playing video games.

Astro Bot is a gem, a game crafted with heart that manages to unite tradition and innovation. Despite its "small" size, the latest title from Team Asobi delivers an extraordinary experience thanks to the power of the PS5 and the clever use of the DualSense.

Astro Bot is a wonderfully entertaining and diverse platformer that throws new ideas at you at an incredible rate, topped with stunning visuals and an injection of PlayStation nostalgia.
Engaging from start to finish and full of wonderful touches that take your breath away, Astro Bot is a phenomenal experience that will keep you glued to your screen.
Astro Bot is a heartfelt homage to PlayStation’s rich history. With great characters and charming gameplay, it's the most fun you'll have on the PS5 this year.
Big-budget triple-A titles, with eye-watering visuals and interminable development cycles aren't the only way forward. And smaller games aren't just an option, they are a necessity. With Astro Bot, Team Asobi has crafted one of the best 3D platformers since Super Mario Odyssey. It's a game that is committed to being a game, to being fun and joyous and playful. It's hard to find a more vibrant title in PlayStation's stable, and Sony must invest in similar smaller games going forward. Because right now, it seems PS5 owners are stuck playing remakes and remasters while waiting for the next God of War and the next Spider-Man. Sony is sitting on multiple beloved IPs of yore, and the PlayStation parent surely must realise that people like all kinds of games, not just triple-A open-world, action-adventures. And Astro Bot is living proof of that.
With fine tuned and fun-focused gameplay, a ton of collectables to find, and plenty of galaxies to explore, Astro Bot delivers high quality fun in a way that few PlayStation games do.
Astro Bot is a crowd-pleasing kind of game, but it is also a very superficial one that you forget about after playing. The haptics and the sensory experience from playing are novel, but after a while, there is not much else to the game. It can be depressing for older gamers who wish the cameos didn’t feel like you were in a wax museum of dead celebrities; a haunting reminder of Sony squandering some of their classic games.
A perfect, charming platformer that will delight players throughout the entire journey. This is an easy recommendation and a must-play!
All things considered, I’m proud to say that Astro Bot is a 3D platformer every gamer should play, not just for PlayStation fans. This lovable, adorable white and blue bot offers a mixture of fun and engaging platforming gameplay with the PS5 spin and PlayStation nostalgia to please both new and longtime fans in multiple ways. Astro Bot may not have the extensive history nor brand recognition comparable to platformers like Mario… yet.
Astro Bot is by far the most fun, feel-good game I've ever played on Playstation 5. Not because it's easy, not because it's a snack game, but because it does everything perfectly and never fails to make the player smile. As many have said, Playstation may have finally found its defining mascot.

A stunning 3D platformer in the spirit of the best Nintendo games. It turned out that the success of Astro's Playroom was not an accident - these developers really know how to create such games and why the audience loves them.

What is undeniable is that Astro Bot is worth every second you put into it.
Play Has No Limits has been PS5's campaign motto since the beginning, and Astro Bot truly defines it. With a tremendous amount of improvements over its predecessor, Astro Bot pushes the lines out wide when it comes to creativity and offers a satisfying experience to any gamer, regardless of age or interests.

ASTRO BOT is fantastic. It is one of those videogames that knows how to follow a direction and fully commits to make you fall in love with the purest fun. Although it is clear that this is a videogame made by and for fans of the Japanese brand, it is also a celebration of what this medium represents and all those incredible moments that it has made us spend from childhood to adulthood. It is a game that celebrates being a videogame to remind us why we love this medium so much.

The game literally has everything that makes a platform game an ideal experience, and at the same time it works as a peak at the rich history of PlayStation, which created fun and beautiful memories for generations of players, and it does so in an innovative, fun and emotional way.

The highest praise I can give Astro Bot is that it genuinely feels like PlayStation has its own Mario now. The gameplay, creativity and charm are competing with Nintendo's powerhouse with wonderful level design and engaging gameplay from start to finish. Only the relatively short runtime is a potential negative, and even that feels like a minor complaint. If you're a longtime PlayStation fan looking for a rush of nostalgia, a parent looking for a good game for their kids, or you just want a darn fun platformer, Astro Bot is a must-play.
