Marvel Rivals Reviews
Almost two months after its release, it's clear that Marvel Rivals isn't just a passing success. The game has been maintaining daily peaks of over 300,000 players on Steam alone, an impressive number for the genre. I believe this volume could be even higher if the optimization were better worked on, and it remains to be seen whether NetEase will pay due attention to this in the future. For now, what we have is a quality hero shooter, standing out and establishing itself as a strong competitor in the games-as-a-service market.

In the two weeks since its release, Marvel Rivals has has over 20 million players and broken several records. Taking this with a grain of salt since this is free to play, but there is no doubt that this is a ton of fun with or without friends. With a huge roster of fan favourite characters, there is an abundance of skins to choose from with even more modes, seasons and rewards to come. This also is great for those quick gaming sessions where you don’t have a lot of time or just want to play something that doesn’t require too many brain cells. All in all Marvel Rivals is a great addition to the F2P universe and hopefully it continues to grow into a worth rival of Fortnite and Apex.
Having had 500,000 players at launch alone and having had the chance of continuous updates, this indeed is a great addition to become part of this genre. Very much early to talk about the long-term impact, but it's still worth diving into for anyone who's after breathless heroics in a team-capture twist.
Marvel Rivals is poised as the first hero shooter since Overwatch’s 2015 debut to successfully embody the genre’s magic.
Marvel Rivals is a competitive third-person multiplayer hero-shooter that impresses with its initial roster of 33 characters, unique collaboration mechanics, and stunning visuals. Despite the lack of role-based queues, the game offers dynamic 6v6 matches and interactive environments. Its monetization is based on skins and battle passes, without impacting gameplay. With strong numbers on Steam and planned updates, the title shows potential to build a solid fanbase of both casual and competitive players.

Marvel Rivals is one of the best multiplayer games I've played in a really long time. Thanks to varied and unique characters from one of the most beloved franchises in history, the roster is fantastic so far and filled with potential. Further, the moment-to-moment gameplay and unique approach to balance is a great change of place compared to other hero shooters. Hopefully the game manages to build on its momentum in the coming months.
Marvel Rivals, despite accusations of being an Overwatch clone, defends itself very well. The frustration with bugs and the frequent disorganization of my team are just minor issues that can be fixed. I want to keep playing and come back for more!

Marvel Rivals improves upon the multiplayer hero shooter formula to deliver an impressive package. A diverse cast of fun and recognizable characters, a distinct but recognizable aesthetic identity, fun and frenetic gameplay, an addicting competitive scene, and minimal predatory "gotcha" mechanics culminate in a gene-leading experience that prioritizes player fun while being completely free-to-play.
Marvel Rivals is a better hero shooter for remaining unbalanced, prioritizing fun over competitive play which allows it to shine.
I can’t help but point out that I see a lot of haters saying this game wouldn’t be successful without the IP. I think Crystal Dynamic’s Marvel Avengers is proof that IP isn’t everything. It’s the love and care put into how the characters are crafted that shines through to make this game unique and make you feel like you are playing the definitive Marvel experience. Leaving IP out of the conversation, this hero shooter is worthy of your time when so many are fighting for it. I urge you to download and give this game a proper shot. Whether you are flying around shooting missiles as Iron Man or throwing 10,000 punches in .01 second as Iron Fist, you will truly feel like you are a hero in this well crafted shooter game.
There are plenty of new moves, and the Team-Up mechanic adds a new layer to the competitive spirit of the genre. The lack of modes may be bothersome, but the game is still fun to play nonetheless. It’s obvious that a particular hero shooter inspires a lot of the game, but Marvel Rivals proves that is able to stand tall, even taller on its own.
Marvel Rivals is a must-play for fans of the Marvel universe and hero shooters like Overwatch. With its polished, well-rounded gameplay and engaging design, it stands out as a near-perfect entry in the genre. This title has all the makings of a new flagship for team-based hero shooters.

Marvel Rivals manages to feel both familiar and like a breath of fresh air. The cast of characters is exciting across the board, and once the game adds more maps and hopefully better matchmaking, I think NetEase could be on to a winner.

All in all, Marvel Rivals is a massive success. Already at this stage the game is very enjoyable to play and after each completed match you want to click again to search for the next one. The full transparency of the developers and the presentation of plans for the future definitely fuels players with optimism, and may it stay that way forever.

If you are looking for a casual or competitive hero shooter to play alone or with your friends, I recommend diving into Marvel Rivals; you will easily end up putting a few hundred hours into the game once you get a hang of the heroes and core gameplay loop.
Marvel Rivals boasts immense potential with its roster of 33 distinct characters, but balancing issues, a steep learning curve for newcomers, and its heavy resemblance to games like Overwatch 2 hinder its uniqueness, leaving its success dependent on whether it gains the time and player base to fully realize its Marvel license's possibilities.

Marvel Rivals has hooked me back into the hero shooter genre with its huge roster of characters, exciting gameplay, and excellent sense of style.
Marvel Rivals is fantastic.
Marvel Rivals is an excellent start to what should be a long-running franchise. NetEase has done a great job of proudly using mechanics that are well-known while crafting a uniquely crazy experience all their own. This 6v6 hero shooter/fighter has started from a place of strength. With proper leadership, it should only improve and grow as the years pass this multiverse by.
