Wilmot's gentle and relaxing jigsaw puzzles won't tax you in the slightest, but this warm bubble bath of a game is very soothing, and it weaves a surprising tale of companionship and found friends around the edges.

Some might end up thinking that this game gets repetitive after a while — because, well, it does. But in my view, that’s the point. It’s a predictable, comforting game that’s kept interesting by the silly overarching storyline involving Postwoman Sam and her oversharing with Wilmot, and the puzzles do seem to get more challenging as the game progresses. If you like A Little to the Left, Wilmot Works it Out is a must-play that’ll keep you busy until it doesn’t. And at that point, take a break and return when you’re ready for a nice solved-puzzle dopamine hit once again.

A relaxing follow-up to Wilmot's Warehouse, but one that loses the box-stacking sense of satisfaction.

Wilmot Works It Out is a wonderful example of cosy gaming done right, with colourful puzzles to solve and a whole lot of charm to boot.

I had a really good time playing Wilmot Works It Out. As someone who likes doing puzzles, I admired this new take on puzzle solving. I also liked the little touches that made the game feel even more significant, like chatting with Sam the post deliverer, as well as unlocking new rooms and decorating them. It's easy to get addicted to a game like this. I would love to see more of Wilmot Works It Out, maybe with future DLC or seasonal additions such as Christmas? This is definitely a game to get if you want to play something easy-going and chilled out, yet with opportunities to challenge yourself.

Wilmot Works It Out brings wit and finesse to the little world of its protagonist, previously confined to a warehouse brimming with all the cynicism of the modern world. In a way, it ends up being a treaty about looking for the balance between leisure and work, and it asks us, as square as we are, not to lose sight of what makes us happy. It's a good reminder - and an even better game.

While incredibly simple in its premise, Wilmot Works It Out is extremely charming and cunning in its challenge. There’s a real satisfaction to figuring out each puzzle and a sense of pride in hanging and arranging your completed artwork. I adored the story and interactions between Wilmot and Sam, and the culmination of the game in the final puzzle was splendid. The game is well worth it’s £12.79 price on Steam. Now that we’ve squared all that away I can tell you that Wilmot Works It Out earns a Thumb Culture Platinum Award.

Let's help Wilmot decorate all the walls of his house by solving puzzles and hanging them in the rooms! In addition to the curious movement system (the player controls Wilmot, the smiling square, telling him which pieces to collect, drag and join), Wilmot Works It Out stands out for its mixed puzzle mechanics: the postmistress always delivers us a few more or fewer pieces, so we first have to work out which pictures we can reconstruct and which ones will have to wait for the next deliveries, as we are missing a few pieces. The game is long-lived (about eight hours to finish the ‘story mode’) and relaxing. Nothing too difficult, but entertaining.

Wilmot Works It Out is a creative sequel to Wilmot's Warehouse. It takes the soothing feeling of sliding blocks and gives it a creative twist to create something new. The perfect controls from the first game are directly carried over here and work even better. The different paintings that you have to puzzle together each time are creative, original and cleverly resemble each other, which provides just the right amount of challenge each time. This makes Wilmot Works It Out a nice addition to the Wilmot series and hopefully even more players will discover the simple but cool adventures of the square block Wilmot.

We really like the premise of Wilmot Works It Out, and don’t mind a shorter experience! But the game really only hits its stride in the final chapters, leaving us wishing it expanded its later offerings at least a bit.
