In 2024, Horizon Zero Dawn remains a highly recommended experience. Within what we find in the recent history of the industry, the narrative remains one of the most fascinating and the world remains one of the most interesting to explore. And this remaster does an impressive job of making everything noticeably more beautiful, immersive and resplendent, despite introducing some bugs whose presence is as strange as it is annoying. For those who have already experienced Aloy's adventures, it may not be worth stepping foot in these terrains again. But anyone who has never faced these metallic Jurassic creatures before is in for a must-see release.

For all the positives that Zero Dawn Remastered brings, there’s one major “issue”: did we really need this? Don’t get me wrong, the remaster is beautiful, and the time and effort that went into it is clear. You even get the Frozen Wilds expansion bundled in but this is only a seven-year-old game that was released on the previous generation of consoles. The original still holds up remarkably well, both visually and gameplay-wise, and it remains a fun experience. Ultimately, the only people who truly benefit from the remaster are those who didn’t get the chance to play the original.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is the definitive version of the PlayStation classic, though the need for it to exist is debatable. For new players or those looking to revisit Aloy's world with the latest improvements, this version is certainly worth a play.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered invites us to an epic journey in a post-apocalyptic world more beautiful than ever, perfect for new players, but with no new features for veterans. Those who already have the original, and want to see it in all its splendor, will be able to update it for a small fee. For its part, the remastered version includes the expansion, which offers more than 40 hours of action and adventures. In any case, I don't think an upgrade was necessary. The game remains just as colorful and fun as before.

One of the best PS4 games has been updated to a PS5 and 2024-worthy quality. The authors added many improvements and shown us that a remaster does not have to mean only an increase in resolution. Horizon Zero Dawn has never been in better shape.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is a very successful refresh of the original. The introduced changes are not particularly groundbreaking anywhere, but they make a noticeable difference during gameplay. The game looks and sounds better, and the gameplay has greatly benefited from expanded gestures, facial expressions, and new movements of the heroine. If you didn't play it Horizon, then this remaster is an excellent choice. However, if you already know her story, then there's not enough new content here that could make you immerse yourself in this world again.

After playing Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, any qualms about this remaster can and will vanish. This is an in-depth remaster that’s just shy of being a remake. The way Nixxes Studios manages to rework countless motion capture footage to make interactions more lifelike and having the environments pop more than they did in the past is incredible.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered may not have been an essential release, but it successfully revitalizes one of the PlayStation 4’s standout titles, bringing it in line with modern standards and allowing it to sit comfortably alongside its sequel. The visual improvements, character model updates, refined animations, and DualSense support combine to make this an incredibly polished remaster that will delight both newcomers and returning fans.
Sony revisits the 2017 classic with Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, aligning it visually and technically with its 2022 sequel, Horizon Forbidden West. While the remaster provides cleaner character models, enhanced lighting, and improved animations for NPCs, it doesn’t add new content. Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is just providing options to those who want that extra bump to the experience from a technical and graphical standpoint. If that’s all you want out of this remaster, then you won’t be disappointed at what Nixxes has done in this version of the game, especially with it being a $10 upgrade for those who own the original.
This Remastered version would be a wonderful chance to step into one of the most favorite PlayStation 4 games for those who haven't stepped into the shoes of Horizon Zero Dawn yet or for those who have never completed the previous game. For new players and former fans, it is still an exciting enhancement, as it provides an improved version of already great gameplay and graphics.
The first part of Horizon only needed this facelift and its arrival on PlayStation 5 to become perfect. There are no problems, it's what we needed and we didn't know

While the graphical enhancements, quicker load times and bundled Frozen Wilds DLC make for a strong package, they don’t exactly justify the Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster, given how polished the original 2017 release already was. However, through all the repetitiveness of its open-world structure and exposition-heavy dialogue, this game certainly has its moments of magnificence.
