Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is the best and most creative kart racing game Sonic has ever made. The game offers a fast, unpredictable, and always enjoyable racing experience by blending decades of experimentation with thoughtful new features, most notably Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Rings system and deep gadget-based customization.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is a brilliant game for those who love the circuit track mindset, but want a little pizzazz thrown in there. It sticks to what worked in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed but adds to it and makes an experience that sits directly beside that game, which is often regarded as the best in the series. The races are chaotic, and the variability of the outcomes is wide. Add to that the charm and celebration of the past 20 years of Sonic and friends, and you have a highly enjoyable title that wrestles away the title of best racing game of 2025.
Crossworlds has a really unique concept, combined with an arcade style, great dynamics, and solid gameplay, making it a strong competitor to Nintendo's Mario Kart.
Despite its shortcomings, primarily in timed crossover character selection, I’m very impressed with what I’ve played out of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and while I think it’s a bit of a detriment, I also think the fact that we’re getting events with new characters is a solid way to keep people invested.
Even though the ticket hunt can become a bit repetitive, it doesn't overshadow the brilliance of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. The hedgehog's entire universe was cleverly utilized in abundance across the tracks, cars, and soundtrack in a creative and well-crafted way. This is exactly what the blue blur's fans wanted and deserved. Sonic is back in the race, and to win.

Overall, "Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds" is a damn good entry in SEGA's already globally popular racing series. In fact, the game's biggest benefit is that it offers far more extensive content than other well-known competitors. Although drifting requires some practice, and even if you're not exactly a big fan of Sonic and his friends, "Sonic Racing: CrossWorld" promises a lot of fun despite a few minor issues and has the potential to become one of the best games in the kart racing genre. We're definitely very impressed!

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is a fantastic kart game that doesn't feel like a half-baked carbon copy. It has many different modes that stand on their own, as well as the portal system that changes up each track and keeps you on your toes. It has a low entry point but a high ceiling, which makes it ideal for anyone to pick up and enjoy.
"Sonic Racing: Crossworlds" stands alongside "Mario Kart" at the top of the fun racer genre – even if its DLC pricing policy is far from ideal.
