Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 Reviews
Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 bundles foundational platforming titles with little compromise - pricey but a wonderful addition to modern libraries.
It may sound cliché, but Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 remains one of Nintendo’s greatest classics to this day. With a range of visual upgrades and new features, the game delivers an experience just as magical and captivating as its original 2007 release. Now, with support for 1080p on Switch 1 and 4K on Switch 2, it’s simply impossible not to recommend an immediate purchase!

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 on Nintendo Switch 2 is an excellent opportunity to (re)discover two undisputed masterpieces of the 3D platform genre. The remastering process is technically sound but rather conservative: those looking for a “remake-style” treatment may be left feeling somewhat dissatisfied. However, the games themselves remain extraordinary, with gameplay that subverts expectations and scenarios (thanks to excellent level design) that would not be possible without the creative freedom of the cosmos. Today, as then, they manage to entertain (net of a gyroscopic aim that is not always effective and some camera issues). However, there is a lack of ambition for a true celebration—even to mark the 40th anniversary of the series—which we would have expected for two titles of this caliber and historical importance.

There’s not really much more that needs to be said about Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, is there? Even now, they remain quintessential examples of Nintendo being masters of the craft. If you can swallow the hefty price tag, you’ll find that these are excellent ports that bring out these games’ full potential in both graphics and performance. While the control scheme in Handheld Mode is disappointingly finicky, Docked Mode and Tabletop Mode offer up experiences that feel nearly as good as they did back on the Wii. I think both of these games are must-plays if you enjoy 3D platformers. While I wouldn’t say Galaxy 1 warrants the extra purchase if you already own 3D All-Stars, definitely jump into Galaxy 2 if you haven’t already.
The average Mario fan who wants something new or already has the Super Mario 3D All Stars version may be disappointed in this release. But for anyone who has never experienced Super Mario Galaxy, then this is definitely the best way to explore the stars.
The new Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 collection is a feast for the eyes on Switch 2, letting us enjoy both titles with a level of resolution and performance never seen before. While Switch 1 players can finally get their hands on the long-missing second game, the lucky owners of the Switch 2 are in for a real treat, thanks to 4K resolution and a silky-smooth 60 fps that deliver pure joy. An unmissable release for both longtime fans and newcomers to the series — and really, what better time to play them than now, as we await the upcoming Mario Galaxy movie?

The galaxies spin again, but not as much as my brain still does in wonderment at these two genre-defining games. This Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 release isn’t trying to reinvent the Super Mario Galaxy games, but it lets them run smoother and shine brighter than ever.
Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a near-perfect compilation, surprising in every way. But its greatest value is the skill with which it surprises and captivates you in each of the levels of both games. Something worth playing.

Two Wii-era icons arrive on Nintendo Switch looking crisper and running smoother, and they still play beautifully. This anniversary package respects what made these adventures special while giving them modern polish and new content to enjoy.
Super Mario Galaxy is great. Definitely. It's totally worth it, guaranteeing a lot of fun and replay value. Super Mario Galaxy loses some of its original essence, but it's still great. As a collection: the best of both worlds, because playing both back-to-back gives the feeling of a single, larger game.

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 brings two absolute classics to the Switch 2, with improved visuals and a whole lot of creative stages to play.
Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel remain two timeless gems, and this re-release for Switch and Switch 2 proves it with outstanding visual improvements (1080p/4K) and controls perfectly adapted to the gyroscope, both on TV and in handheld mode. Still, the additional content is scarce. That said, it's the best way to enjoy (or discover) two of the best 3D platformers ever created.

It’s easy to forget that these games were once hardware experiments. On Switch 2, that completely disappears. What’s left are two of the best-paced, best-controlled platformers ever made, finally running the way they always should have. The improved visuals, refined controls and faster performance make this the best version of both titles, even if the lack of new extras keeps it shy of perfection. This is Nintendo doing what it does best: not chasing trends, but refining what already works until it feels effortless again.
Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 delivers two of the greatest 3D platformers with modern enhancements. Visuals are upgraded (4K on Switch 2), menus and performance are smoother, and new options like Assist Mode and co-star play improve accessibility. The core gameplay—exploring inventive, gravity-defying galaxies—remains as magical as ever. A fitting and polished collection that honors the originals.

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 brings two of Nintendo’s most beloved 3D platformers to Nintendo Switch with meaningful updates. These re-releases enhance the originals with sharper textures, 4K support, smoother performance, and a few quality-of-life additions. Overall, this is the definitive way to experience these two inventive and magical 3D platformers.
Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel are brilliant games that deserve these updated versions for current Nintendo consoles. It’s just a shame that, at the asking price, they feel more like funding greed than celebrating classics.
