Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth is a heart-warming and enchanting story of courage and helping others, set in the wintry lands of Moominvalley. The artwork is beautiful, and the script was very funny in places. There are some scenes which were scarier and sadder than I was expecting, and the ending was a little prolonged, but overall a wonderful adventure.

By the time I hit credits, I had gone through a whirlwind of emotions that had me floored at the fact that the developers really went there with a Moomin game. That said, Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth is a wonderful and whimsical tale where being together matters the most. Fun and beautifully written adventure games with philosophical lessons don’t come around too often, and this game hit me right at my core. It does a great job carrying over the same comforting feeling of hopefulness Tove Jansson conveys in her original works.

The new Moomin adventure offers a warm and gentle journey through a beautifully snow‑covered Moominvalley. Its cozy atmosphere, charming characters and serene winter landscapes create a relaxing experience that captures the spirit of Tove Jansson’s world. Light gameplay and a peaceful tone make it an inviting escape for players looking for a calm, heartwarming adventure. Even though the pacing and the amount of text might need some looking into.

Excellence in gameplay, meticulous care in visuals and strong bonds of friendship in emotional core build up a masterpiece of an adventure. Pacing is tight and the metroidvania elements are well placed, but it's the construction of a found family that really sells the whole package. Moomintroll: Winter's Warmth will warm even an ice cold heart.

Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth is another charming trip into the world of Moominvalley, this time telling a slightly more wistful story about loneliness, resilience and finding friendship even when times are tough. A masterclass in cosy game design, serving as a heartfelt love letter to Tove Jansson’s enduring world. While it may lack the mechanical complexity of more traditional adventure games, its strength lies in its atmosphere and its deep reverence for the source material. Hyper Games has successfully captured the unique duality of the Moomin stories – the whimsical charm of helping neighbors balanced against the slight, beautiful melancholy of a lonely Scandinavian winter

I absolutely could not wait to play Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth, and I wasn’t disappointed. The Moomin characters are already full of adorable charm that you can’t help but fall in love with them in a game setting, too. And getting to wander around their world at your own pace, meeting new people and helping them out, just makes you happy. A few minor kinks barely do anything to take away from everything that this new title has to offer, and gamers of all ages will find its snowy adventure fantastic from start to finish.

Moomintroll: Winter's Warmth is a comfy and surprisingly mature adventure game that combines the satisfaction of exploration with a cast of weird but likable characters. The fetch quests get to be a bit much by the end of the eight-or-so-hour runtime, but it’s not enough to put a hamper on how delightful the game is overall. Whether you’re a fan of Moomintroll or not, you’ll likely have a pretty chill time with Moomintroll: Winter's Warmth.

Moomintroll: Winter's Warmth is a strikingly beautiful game. It suffers from insufferable hand-holding and forgettable dialogue, but the main problem is the release date. Much of the game revolves around shoveling snow, and right now there's nothing I want less than to trade spring weather for trudging around in digital snow. My advice is to forget about the game until December 1st, grab a hot cocoa and a blanket, and play it then.
