Dave the Diver: In the Jungle Reviews
Packed to the gills with activities and swimming with great characters, In The Jungle is just as charming and surprising as the base game.
If this is the level of what we get in an expansion, I can’t wait to see what Bancho the Chef is like, and I’ll still keep waiting for the real Dave the Diver 2.
To sum up, Dave the Diver's Into the Jungle DLC is an absolute feast for the senses in just about every possible way.
There’s more to Dave the Diver than wasting away between the sea and sushi shop. In the Jungle is a meaningful expansion of the Dave the Diver-verse. It opens up the world we’ve fallen in love with beyond The Blue Hole and lets us explore it. It gives us a handful of new minigames, all but one of which are a treat. It expands Dave’s relationship with a cast of emotive beings and sets the stage for Bancho the Chef (coming hopefully sooner rather than later). It’s one of the better post-game DLC expansions, by just about every metric.
A no-brainer for Dave the Diver fans, the new In the Jungle DLC is well worth diving into.
In the Jungle brings expansion-level volumes of new content, reigniting the same excitement first felt with Dave the Diver — a beautifully crafted DLC packed with everything fans love.

Dave the Diver: In the Jungle offers more of what made the original game so enjoyable, while once again finding ways to keep the experience feeling fresh. The new turn-based combat sections are a welcome addition to the already diverse range of gameplay styles, proving once again that Mintrocket knows exactly how to blend different genres into a cohesive and entertaining experience. The story may not break much new ground, but it remains enjoyable from start to finish thanks to its charming cast of characters, entertaining cameos, and humorous dialogue.
"In the Jungle" does not attempt to alter the *Dave the Diver* formula but rather expand upon it with a new setting that refreshes the experience without compromising its essence. The change of scenery and the pacing of the dives provide enough variety to make everything feel distinct, even while remaining familiar. While it does lean on established elements at times, the result is solid and well-executed. Ultimately, it is a cohesive expansion that feels both familiar and refreshing.

This Jungle DLC is a shoo-in and, just like the base game, is a must-play. Loads of content and brilliant characters ensure yet more hours of gaming fun in Dave The Diver. This expansion could easily have been released as a standalone game. A short or long gaming session? It doesn’t matter, Jungle is perfectly suited to both. Mintrocket, please give us more Dave The Diver in the future!

Dave the Diver: In the Jungle functions more like a substantial half-sequel than simple DLC, cleverly consolidating its core loop into an efficient central hub.
Perhaps one of the best DLCs (at least for a smaller "indie" game) I've played. Not only do you get more of an already great game, but they also give you multiple new gameplay elements. Honestly this could have been a good base for a sequel game with the amount of content you get. It's priced accordingly, give you more than a handful of missions like other smaller DLCs and it's fun. Highly recommend once you beat the base game.
This is a must-play for every fan of the series. The developers clearly show what a proper full-fledged DLC should look like, delivering 10 to 15 hours of honest fun for a ridiculously low price.

Dave the Diver: In the Jungle delivers somewhere between 10 and 15 hours of new content. A real story arc with an actual emotional payoff by the end, new mechanics in nearly every direction you look, and a price tag that doesn't ask much for everything you're getting. It's not a perfect expansion; the pacing can feel rushed if you're trying to do everything the village offers in a single day, and a couple of the new systems feel more like padding than essential additions.
Dave the Diver: In the Jungle is a fantastic DLC to this fun and addictive. With the new mechanics that kept being added and me enjoying the new things that appear. We’re not being forced to speed up the story and take our time with it. I honestly feel that this is a great game to play while we wait for Bancho the Chef. So, don’t mind me, I’m going back into the diving suit and hunting for everything I can! I give Dave the Diver: In the Jungle the Thumb Culture Platinum Award
Dave the Diver: In the Jungle is not just a simple addition to the original package, but a dazzling declaration of love from Mintrocket toward its own creation. Moving away from free micro-crossovers, the Korean team has crafted a paid expansion that is massive in terms of content, matching few others in recent gaming history. Moreover, it is capable of almost entirely revolutionizing the gameplay loop, refreshing the original title's experience and making it highly appealing again two years after its release. In short, Dave is back, he has shed his skin, and his jungle feast is simply unmissable.

In an era when many developers don't even bother trying to charge the same player more money, the Korean studio Mintrocket once again surprises the industry with a prime example of what an expansion should be. *Dave the Diver: In the Jungle* expands on the original concept, refreshes the gameplay, and adds a wealth of new content with ingenuity and charm.

Despite primarily being a diver, Dave managed to hold his own quite well on dry land. Although the expansion lacks the same spark of originality that the base game brought at launch, it was a good idea to use the reduced scope to promote certain gameplay experiments.

Dave the Diver: In the Jungle is a content-packed DLC. Although it leaves the Blue Hole behind for the jungle, the core charm and strengths of Dave the Diver remain intact. It introduces a wide variety of new content, yet still keeps the experience light, approachable, and easy to enjoy.

In the Jungle shows what a successful expansion should look like. For a relatively modest amount, you don't get a handful of extra missions, but a substantial new adventure that effortlessly builds upon everything that made Dave the Diver so strong. The new village, the extra systems, the new characters, and the new underwater area ensure that the game feels fresh again without deviating from the formula that made the original so strong. For fans of the base game, this DLC is simply a must-have. If you haven't played Dave the Diver yet, In the Jungle is above all a nice confirmation that the developers continue to support and expand their game with love and attention to detail. It is just as addictive as the base game. Afterwards, I had mainly one thought: I am curious where Dave's next dive will take place.

In the Jungle is a bold DLC, but also somewhat uneven. Mintrocket hasn't just offered more fish, more recipes, and more missions; it has created an expansion that transforms the structure of the base game. If you're looking for more of the Dave The Diver you know and love, it might come as a shock; if you accept that this expansion aims to open new doors for the franchise, you'll probably enjoy it quite a bit.
