One's enjoyment of Gran Turismo Sport will solely be determined by whether the prospect of learning different tracks and competing in three different online races per day is exciting to them. If you can't get into that gameplay loop then you'll want to play something else, as the single-player content is extremely limited, and even the online offerings aren't rich with features. GT Sport does a few things exceptionally well (you won't find a better looking and playing racing game), but it ultimately left me wanting more content out of it.

Gran Turismo Sport is worthy of the name and a great driving simulator, but a lack of content compared to what the series usually offers makes it a curious beast. If you love Polyphony Digital's approach and cars, however, it will still tick a lot of your desired boxes.

Gran Turismo Sport is a good game, and yet, it's still a disappointment. Given this series' pedigree, good simply isn't good enough. GT Sport still brings it on the track, but its lack of content can't be ignored, and you can't give the game top marks in world where Forza Motorsport 7 and Project CARS 2 exist. If you're a diehard fan of Sony's series or really into online racing, GT Sport is worth a shot. If you just want the best racing sim out there, you may want to kick some more tires.

Gran Turismo Sport represents a sharp change in direction for a beloved brand – and only time will tell whether that move proves shrewd. The game sets a new standard for online simulation racing on consoles, and for that it must be praised, but in its efforts to educate it's shed the series' revered single player structure – and almost certainly a fair few fans along the way.

Arguably the best Gran Turismo ever in terms of the driving, and definitely in terms of the graphics, but a lack of content keeps it from getting up to top speed.

GTS lacks overall depth, but it is saved from being a complete failure by its stellar visuals, fun and realistic driving experience.

Gran Turismo Sport feels like a game people shouldn't be buying now. Rather, it is something that should be revisited in three or six months. There is too much that needs to be done here. While it handles and looks well, with an Arcade mode and online elements that are rather solid, the Campaign isn't fulfilling and too much gets locked away the second online connectivity has been taken away. There are too few cars and tracks here, something that will hopefully be remedied with both free and paid updates. If it gets the proper support, it could end up being a respectable entry in the series. At the moment, Gran Turismo Sport feels like a precursor to greater things.

GT Sport is the best racing game available on PlayStation 4, but it is also the most controversial chapter in the series, a strange digital experiment that sacrifices singleplayer career on the eve of online challenges and eSports

Gran Turismo Sport delivers a solid racing experience but can't keep up with the competition this year and suffers from the lack of a career mode and a questionable game structure for the series. If you expect a beautiful and beginner friendly racing game, you'll still enjoy it.

We finally got a Gran Turismo on PlayStation 4, but looks like Polyphony Digital is making an experiment with the franchise. They bring to the table a great simulation engine, with graphics not as great as anybody would expect and most of the racing experience beyond an online gate. Not as good as it sounds.

Time will tell whether future updates will will go a long way to add some meat on top of the strong bones that make Gran Turismo Sport.

Polyphony's racing opus returns with its trademark excellent driving and a lot of fat trimming. Lovers of the series’ offline “CarPG” will be disappointed by the reduced number of cars, tracks and offline features, as well as the always-online requirement for basic things like saving and buying cars. If all you care about is online racing, however, then Gran Turismo Sport is a more focused take on the pure driving experience minus the bloat.

Gran Turismo Sport brings its best to the race with a long list of gorgeous cars and outstanding venues. As long as the servers are online, there will be vivacious fun to be had in each and every mode.

In many ways, GT Sport is the most polished Gran Turismo game in over a decade. It looks great, feels great, and what's here has been carefully and well executed. However, while I can forgive the sprinkling of eccentric nonsense, the lack of car and track content really hurts, and the online-only nature of the vast majority of it is worrying. Overall it just isn't as complete as its key competitors.

Gran Turismo Sport is a pretty complicated affair: a mediocre single player experience, an exhilarating multiplayer title, the last work from Polyphony Digital is the greatest testament to a democratic vision of motorsport, where driving is really for everyone. A temple where players can share and contemplate truly stunning and beutiful images of cars, and drivers can look for the aesthetic perfection of driving. In the middle, a driving model with the same old limits of the previous chapters, and an overall anachronistic feeling.

Polyphony Digital's choice to focus mainly on the online modes doesn't feel as a good way to promote Gran Turismo Sport, which might be fun to play and sometimes beautiful to watch, but fails to offer something really interesting when compared to competitors' racing experiences. Kazunori Yamauchi's latest project is definitely an ambitious project but it doesn't feel as a successful opera, due to the lack of what made Gran Turismo so appreciated in past iterations of the franchise.

Gran Turismo Sport is visually beautiful, but fails in delivering a limited number of cars and circuits when compared to other recent titles. Despite the fact that the carrer mode is missing, it is in the online mode that the game gets its great victory and reaches the first place. So, hit the gas and try to beat the other competitors in this good racing game of 2017.

The Gran Turismo franchise makes its comeback almost four years after its latest entrance with a different attempt for the driving simulator games: VR and an online, esports' focus for the masses. Despite being a great attempt, it just doesn't feel cohesive or complete as any other of its own past games.

GT Sport offers little solo playing time and scope, but thanks to great driving physics and good online mode it is nevertheless a recommended game.
