While the PC port is a little janky, the actual game of Little King’s Story is as instantly likeable as it’s ever been.

If the game still remains the little gem of seven years ago, this new PC version has not proved equally impeccable.

Another disappointing port of one of the Wii’s best games, although still a clever and entertaining mix of Pikmin and The Settlers.

If you've never played Little King's Story before and don't have access to a Wii, then picking up this new remastered PC version is definitely recommended. However, not much has been added or altered to really entice owners of the Wii version to consider upgrading to this one.

Little King’s Story is not the worst port to have ever existed. However, the myriad problems that exist in the game mean the overall experience playing it on PC is badly tarnished. Essentially, it’s just really, really annoying. At the moment it is a bit of a broken mess and, until these issues are addressed anyone wishing to experience this title would do better to revisit the Wii original than waste time or money here.

Its low production value, weird controls and input problems, and general repetitiveness bored me long before I expected.

If you can look past the various issues and shortcomings that have cropped during the transition to the PC, Little King's Story is still one of the most fun games from the original Wii's catalog.

What we’ve got here with Little King’s Story is a brilliant game ported to Steam with all the finesse and grace of a runaway monster truck. It’s good to be the king, just not on this platform.

Little King’s Story is a delightful RPG with around 30 hours of gameplay. With a cheerful soundtrack, imaginative landscapes, and improved graphics, this re-release can stand shoulder to shoulder with similar games on the market. The gameplay is fun, addictive, and pretty forgiving. You’ll find plenty to do in this game, from digging for treasure, to collecting taxes, to completing quests, to battling bosses and other baddies. Fans of the series will no doubt enjoy getting lost in the colorful kingdom of Alpoko once again.

Little King’s Story is a game that’ll make you say, “oh I just can’t wait to be king.”

'Little King's Story' on PC is a shoddy port of a game that has not aged particularly well. The mouse and keyboard controls are a real pain, and the game is simple enough that they didn't have to be. The gameplay never excited me while I played, and even the trivial things like saving and navigating menus just exasperated me. Returning fans ought to appreciate having a PC version, (especially with so many Wiis seemingly now retired). For everybody else, I really don't have anything good to say about it, and that's surprising given how well it was received in 2009.

What sets Little King’s Story apart is how utterly charming it is. Classical music blaring out of the speakers, you’ll wander through your bright, happy kingdom drinking in the colour and vibrancy of it all.

We’ve all been sitting here for long enough today. Everyone rise, stretch out your legs, and head on to your duties and we will resume this later as I contemplate what to do about the writers of this autobiography. The adventure was rough in the beginning while figuring out exactly how to manage my resources and my peoples but never was it frustrating. Ordering the people around could take some getting used to but once formations and sorting by rank was possible everything went along smoothly. It really was a beautiful experience and I’m glad to have relived it. What is this Wee they speak of though? Between that, the Pea Sea, and this “A” and “B” nonsense there were will a lot to talk about for the second printing.
