Sundered Reviews
While some difficulty spikes make it frustrating, Sundered is a capable action metroidvania that deserves a look simply based on its incredible world. Lots of indie games try and create a bleak, desolate world that you need to sift through the ruins of, but Sundered creates surreal and often disturbing sights with real talent, and it’s a world you won’t soon forget
'Sundered' is an experience to behold, and it features a deep character build system, gorgeous hand drawn art and animations, and wonderfully hectic and fun combat.
Sundered's immense sense of style carries it over any bumps in the road, and the result is one of the best Metroidvania games released in years.
Sundered is a very fun and gorgeous game on PlayStation 4. It is not without faults since its loading times are long and the framerate stutters here and there, but the overall package is something you'll enjoy. There's more content on its way thanks to the DLC the team is working on, which will be free for those who backed the Kickstarter campaign, so I look forward to seeing what the team will be adding.
Exploring new areas, fighting off hordes of increasingly menacing enemies, and seemingly insurmountable challenges help Sundered stay compelling through the finish, but technical issues keep the experience from greatness
Even with the repetitiveness and occasionally ridiculous difficulty, Sundered is still a title I’d recommend to fans of the genre. It’s worth it just for the atmosphere alone, but even beneath that, you’ll find a respectably solid game.
I can't say enough good things about Sundered.
Another promising game is ruined by the lure of procedural-generation, which is a particular shame given Sundered's gorgeous animation and interesting gameplay ideas.
Sundered is pretty to look at but as the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover. It is an unforgiving game that fails to fully satisfy the gamer. Nevertheless, if savored bite by bite to prevent the frustration and repetition from exceeding your satiety threshold, it'll prove to be a pretty entertaining title.
A missed opportunity for an artistically inspired metroidvania game in desperate need for a corrective patch.

Sundered is beautiful, tense, and frustrating enough to make you want to throw your controller. If you can make your way through it's overwhelming combat encounters, you'll find a platformer that's well worth the madness.
Sundered is an interesting take on the Metroidvania genre. Eshe's journey to collect the elder shards is adrenaline fueled and challenging. While the game is not free from flaws, it more than worthy of a spot in most collections.
Sundered looks and sounds beautiful, but you will quickly find it exceptionally repetitive and frustrating.

A procedurally-generated Metroidvania might seem like an oxymoron, but Sundered proves the concept's efficacy.
Sundered, at its heart, is a Metroidvania game that I could only recommend to those who have the tenacity to steel themselves for hours upon hours of grinding. There is a lot of fun to be had with Sundered, but it is quelled by an overwhelming amount of forceful pushback by enemy numbers and its desire to extend its own lifespan.
Sundered is a very fast-paced Metroidvania 2D Action Adventure that challenges you to survive in a hell, confronting waves after waves after waves of enemies. It can get extremely hard and frustrating, but if you are an old-school Action Platformer fan, you'll nail it!

Solid mix of Metroidvania and Roguelike with epic boss battles, but often very conventional and sometimes tough.

If you're looking for a Metroidvania-style slash-fest that won't make your eyes weary, you've gotta check out Sundered.
Sundered is a grandly accomplished Metroidvania effort that is complimented by some of the most beautiful 2D visuals to date.
Its lightweight story might not do enough on its own to suck players in, but once everything clicks with Sundered's combat and exploration, it all comes together as one of the most challenging and rewarding games of 2017 so far.
